Engine and Driveline weak links

What are the weak links of the engine as power goes up? Same for the drivetrain? Looking for a breakdown (rods, block, crank, lifter, etc.) as in as rods are good for x amount of hp or rpm and if rod bolts are upgraded its good for x amount more. Same for the drive line and I guess for fuel system. I'm sure this could be usefully for others other all in one thread rather than spread out among multiple threads.

It's all good for 455 hp.

Anything more is a case by case basis

It ain't the motor. I'm making over 700 rwhp and its stock long block. I'm putting a lot to the drive train and haven't broken anything yet, oppps shouldn't have said that. These motors and drivetrains can take a lot of power.

I've heard the A8 will take atleast 700RWHP, and the rear axle will too. Im unsure about the motor itself.

Looking at the drag racing parts from GM, they offer upgrades to the rear axles and drive shaft. I wonder if they broke something during testing or are they trying to get more money out of us?

I'm kind of wondering the same thing. My concern is what will break when traction is added. I just bought some 315 Drag radials and I'm just hoping that the driveshaft and axles take the abuse but my car is an A8 so I'm not too worried.

I remember the old days with the old Fox body Mustangs. I can't tell you how many T5 transmissions I broke just launching the car on sticky street rubber. Got to the point where I always had a spare with me and could swap them in about an hour.
