what kind of numbers work well for tracking

Looking for numbers that stay at high speed but are easily removable. What works best?

I've used two kinds... the ones I like best are vinyl and made by just about any sign/graphics shop. They have a little adhesive on the back. I always spray the area with a few drops of Dawn in a spray bottle full of water. Get them on straight and then squeegee the water and bubbles out.

I've have also used vinyl numbers with no adhesive. I apply them the same way. They "stick" pretty well and I've had the car to 180mph with them without a problem.

Both kinds are ruined when I take them off.

Hope that helps.

Blue painters tape works if you want something quick and easy that you may already have in the garage.

I bought magnetic numbers for more permanent use from these guys - https://www.trackdecals.com/

I went to my local sign shop and had them put numbers on a black magnetic background. Works great over clear bra and have never come off. Top speed around 120.

I've used magnetic before and they work well also. I did notice the magnetic ones slightly marred the car's finish after quite a bit of use..., but it easily polished out.

The magnetic numbers from TrackDecals.com look fantastic. Unfortunately, they come off at anything over 140mph.....

Lost them at RoadAmerica and another set (that were smaller....and I thought would be less likely to fly off) at Road America.

Autocross or smaller tracks you will be ok....bigger fast tracks better to use vinyl with adhesive.

I use magnetic numbers with the added security of blue painters tape on the edges.

This is what I have done, held on fine with only a little tape peeling at speeds up to 140

I bought my magnetic numbers here: http://www.soloperformance.com/

With no tape on the edges, I had no problem with them shifting or flying off at Watkins Glen (my top speeds were between 140-145).
