Supercharger Drivability
I am seriously considering a Maggie at some point in the near future. I was wondering, can I realistically expect OEM drivability once the tune is fully dialed in? I have some experience with owning a tuned turbo BMW and there was always some surging, hiccups, or whatever. I never took it too far to get it tuned further as I eventually went back to stock and sold the car. I am just wondering because I see "stock-like" drivability tossed around a lot. I am eager to hear your first-hand experiences. With a good tune, is it really indistinguishable from stock aside from the power gains? Or are there always going to be some quirks that one just has to live with to experience the extra power?

I opted for the whipple unit and yes it does drive like a stock tune until you press 1/4 way down and the tires will spin. That's the only drawback of the units outy there, is getting them to hook. I also have been looking at beefing up the axles and getting a carbon fiber driveshaft. I should be really looking for a chassis man to back half the car with a mark williams center cention and go racing with iot. lol

What about a PD blower with the A8. Does it cause it to shift hard all the time. is it still like stock at part/half throttle.

A lot of online sellers show you can pick up a non tuner kit with various head unit options, like d1x or f1a... And same with open dump valve... Is that accurate? Or is that only for tuner kits?

Mine on 93 octane tune makes about 600 rwhp and drives like stock until you drop the hammer and then better hold on. Then I change the tune, pulley and put some VP MS109 in it, put my drag pack on, load it on the trailer and go drag racing and goes 10.30's@135. I went on the power tour last year and got 23-25 mpg at 80 mph. Couldn't ask for more in my opinion.

My setup drives just fine...I commute with it and nothing really different other than:
1. Roughly 40% more power than stock so you have to get used to that. 2. Harder to launch clean with a stock setup...definitely need to upgrade rear tires and suspension bits if launching is your thing. 3. I would say that the OEM A8 software kicks down more than it needs to if you mat it from a cruise...so for instance you are going 60 and then you gun it, I feel the A8 shifts like 2-3 gears down and it upsets my traction quite a bit. So yeah, it starts spinning the wheels at 60 mph. Which is pretty cool I guess in a different way
