Tire Recommendation. 315/30/20.

Yes, I know. It's been beat to death like Mike Tyson and all his ex wives.

But, I'm wanting to go 315 on the rear.

Keep in mind I will be lowering tomorrow with the BMR springs. So, with the MRC, I should get .5 up front to .75 on the rear which is fine. I'm already sitting pretty flush. My wheels are 20x11 +32/Rears. I'm keeping the front stock tire size.

I'm installing my new wheels and from my research it's either the R888R's or Dunlops, which I'm not paying $800 a piece for.

What are my options as far as a 315/20/20 for the rear? I see Nitto has a tire, but it looks sketchy for daily use esp when it rains.

I was sold on the R888R's. Just wondering if there was something else out there. I'm just not seeing it. That size seems to be ultra rare.

Nope. R888R is the best. Unless you are looking for strictly drag racing performance. The R888R hooks as good as most 20" drag radials will, and also can canyon carve/road course or just general spirited driving. You can't do that with drag radials (I'm assuming you looked at the NT05R).

I've ran R888s and now R888Rs on a few different cars in the lineup, my favorite tire unless you are going more extreme track tire like a Hoosier 7. The NT05R is a great tire too for street hooking (Lol, that sounds wrong) and for occasional strip use. But I see no point to go NT05R and lose the corner performance when you can use an R888R and still rail the entrance/exit ramps and hook up.

Yep, seems that's about the best option. Yea, I'm not doing the Nitto. I don't dig race. I need a good daily tire that will hook when I roll race. The R's seem to be it. Since I'm lowering it, the last thing I need is a fatter profile height wise.

I do have a question regarding profile. According to Tire Rack. Our Goodyears have a 27.0 mm profile. The R's 27.2. I'm assuming it isn't that noticeable? Seems super minor to me.
