Tune for a stock motor?

Please forgive my lack of knowledge here. Is there a noticeable benefit to doing a tune on a 100% stock motor? Thanks.

What do you expect. A tune on a gas motor doesn’t bring as much as on a diesel. The tune give you maybe a better throttle response more efficiency he can delete the top speed limiter which is for the US ridiculous but that’s about it.

Yes and it's probably the only worthwhile mod that's easy to do but don't expect 25hp or anything absurd. You'll pick up some measureable power and torque management can be removed as well. Surefire way to void your warranty if you happen to care.

I would say that the small HP gain is not worth the warranty void. Do e85 flex fuel at least if you're going to tune it. Tunes are there to adjust the engine when you add mods. If you aren't going to add mods then it wouldn't be worth it.

Yeah i would not even bother, if anything your getting a better throttle response or so but not worth the money.

If it dramatically reduces the awful throttle delay/response, I say it's worth it. That changes the car completely. Not to mention, with a SCT BDX, you can have custom tunes emailed as you make changes to the car.

You can get a throttle controller to fix that and not void the warranty.

Just about everyone who's had them has sold them or said they make little difference and said just get a tune. The SCT BDX is quite affordable and comes with custom tunes from RDP.

Does your car have the adjustable settings? The throttle is very different in tour, sport and track. I drive in sport all the time.

Well most of them upgraded to mods that actually required a tune. I won't be tuning my cars any time soon. So I added a throttle controller and it really opens these cars up. I prefer it over tuning...for now.

Leave the tune alone. IF you have the mod bug start buying up stuff that can be run in stock config. PRAY IM/TB and a RF Dry would be a good start. At that point, pick yourself up a flex fuel kit and THEN get the car tuned.
