P0304 MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 4 -I4 Turbo LTG (updated with pics)
hey guys I need some help here . I am getting code P0304 code which indicates that Cylinder 4 had too many misfires within a predetermined period of time. which also caused P0420 which means the Catalyst system had low efficiency in bank 1. The guys at autozone think its an issue with my catalytic converter or maybe an exhaust leak? Any help is appreciated.
MODS: 65MM throttle body Hi-Flow catalytic converter Full Borla S-Type exhaust Stage 2 performance tune by RPM-Motorsports Everything was installed around July and has been running fine since then. Last edited by dizo702; 11-02-2017 at 03:55 PM. |

Unfortunately, I could not find a clear guide for the LTG so I just started turning wrenches and, to be honest it should have been expected lmao, I obviously ripped the coil pack completely off the rubber seal around the spark plug and now I can't get that rubber seal out! I'll take a picture later today and hopefully somebody can give me some advice because I am getting the feeling that I really messed up here.

The first picture is from the #1 coil pack. I removed this one to help show anybody what it was supposed to look like. In the second picture is from the #4 coil pack and you can see where i ripped it completely apart. In the third picture this is the rubber piece that will not come off, both me and my father tried pulling with all the strength we had and it will not budge. Don't get me wrong it is in a very difficult spot and we could get no leverage at all but there is no way it shouldn't have just come right out

Ok I was able to get the coil off with some vice grips and the spark plug is burnt up pretty bad. I'm very much relieved its a quick fix but does anybody know what might have caused it?

Probably your tune. Check your other plugs.

I am going to lean towards the tune being too rich as well. Make sure you put some dielectric grease on the plug porcelain so the boot doesnt get stuck again.
