Android auto camera video

I want to add a front facing camera to ensure I (or my wife) do not destroy my front splitter and have it displayed on the head unit via android auto. Another user in the DIY thread does this to a dedicated tablet but as far as I know not all applications are available in android auto.

Has anyone happened to try something like this?

Current options are the one you mentioned or the GEN5 DIY kit.

Yea AA is tightly regulated in terms of apps. You won't find one compatible with a video signal.

Like mentioned above Gen5DIY is your best choice. There are some companies making "video intercept" devices for GM cars, but so far don't think anyone has had success in a Camaro with them.

Wish the Camaro offered one from the factory, should be standard on the 2SS...I love mine in my '18 Equinox, along with the 360 surround camera.

Thanks for your responses. I'll keep searching...but it sounds like my cheapest option would be an android app (non auto) and a phone mount beside my screen. I did enable developer mode in android auto that helps with 3rd party apps (I was considering adding an odb2 dongle) but no luck yet with finding a video solution.
