Am I the only one excited about the new Level 2 PP Mustang?

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm very excited they are making this. I could fanboy bash it and say it won't beat my 1LE but frankly I'm just glad they made some worthy competition. If nothing else this will almost certainly lead to a Head 2 Head episode between the SS 1LE and the GT PP Level 2.

Nope, I am with you. The muscle car race of the late 60's, early 70's is happening again, this time with creature comforts and bigger horse power.

I don't hate Mustangs like some of my 'Camaro friends' do... It's an American muscle car.
I like them all. So if I had to get a Mustang, this would be the one.

I think it looks like a great package. I wouldn't want to daily drive Sport Cups, but this looks like it will give the 1LE and run for its money.

Should be interesting to see of a GTPP2 will best a GT350TP on a road course. If it does then it's a pisser for 350 owners... if it doesn't then it probably won't be beating a 1LE.

Those tires are a big deal though. Nearly slicks and very sticky.

Wink

I really like it! If I needed a second fun car, I would seriously consider it.

Of course... I like Mustangs too

Cool looking wheels, magnetic shocks, and a splitter. It's ok but not worth getting excited over.

I agree the Cup 2's will be a tough sell to live with. Inevitably someone will buy it and then complain about terrible tread life. Honestly I think if goodyear would make Supercar 3's in those size they would sell like hotcakes! Just the right balance of performance without horrendous tread wear.

Yeah my only gripe is that they used Cup2's, I would wager that 70% of owners wont put Cup2's back on the car and of that remaining 30%, even fewer wont put on a second set. So if all that made the car competitive was the tire it takes some of the luster off of it for me. I am still glad they are offering it because it will continue to drive Chevrolet to improve, and I hope I am wrong and its not all the tire that makes the car.

Until Ford addresses the issues with the TORSEN overheating, there is really zero point in this package other than a money grab from people who will never track their cars.

This is in no way a competitor for the 1LE.

Love all the performance cars pushing further. It's only good for us gearheads that they compete and push each other!

Maybe 1LEs and these Mustangs should come with a second set of wheel/tires for track use and be delivered to the customer wearing good street tires.

I have to believe the main reasons Ford puts cup 2s on from the factory is:

1) track times for magazine tests, head 2 heads, etc. They grip way better than the goodyears

2) make the ridiculous price for the bare bones L2 package itself, a bit easier to explain
