How do you rate the stereo in the 1SS 1LE?

I think the title says it all - how do you folks like the stereo?

Also, I'm curious as to what upgrades people here may have done, like putting a sub in the trunk.

Thanks.

My LT1 stereo through Borla S types sounds awesome lol........joking aside the stereo is just okay IMO. I'm not a huge sound guy and will often make it home without ever turning the radio on so if i think it's just mediocre I am sure the enthusiasts will feel even more strongly.

It's pretty underwhelming. An audiophile shouldn't be buying a 1LE though.

NPP exhaust > 1SS stereo

The stereo in the 1LE is sad. Does it make me regret buying a 1LE? No, not for a second. Did I notice the stereo while at the track? Nope.

Do I notice it during my commute into work everyday? Yes! So I am gathering the stuffs to put a 5 channel amp in. If that doesn't get it to satisfactory then a sub will be next.
I need tunes in the DD

And a trunk light would be nice too.... I mean really? Does the 2SS have a $2 trunk light? Haha

I think it's ok. All my music has good bitrate and is played through USB though. My friend streams whatever he finds through Bluetooth in his 2SS and it sounds like crap.

I'll give a cable a try too. I have been streaming at what is supposed to be a decent bitrate, but through bluetooth only.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Sounds like a sub would probably help. I wouldn't go overboard - I would simply want to add a subwoofer to the stock system.

If anyone knows of a thread where this has been discussed, please post a link.

Thanks.

One more thing- Both my friend and I had to change the settings of the stock eq + fader. Treble/mid/bass were too boosted at default levels and the soundstage was too biased towards the front which was giving me a headache. I also plugged the intake sound tube.

Man you guys should hear what the OEM stereo sounds like on a Subaru...I swear the speaker material is made of thin cardboard. I think it depends on your level of audiophile and what you're used to or coming from. The sound system is great and satisfactory to me, but I don't listen to it much in the car.

If i remember correctly in my canyon i had bose and it was 2ohm and the regular stereo was 4ohm meaning the bose in the 2ss would be more difficult to upgrade than a ss ....i wouldnt have bought bose again, that being said the camaro is only slightly worse than the bose....i couldn'tbelieve how poor the bose in the truck was for being a "premium "

Its cheap to throw some decent speakers in that should match bose quality if better is desired

It's below average, but I did't buy the car for the stereo. Like others have said, the LT1 and NPP exhaust is the stereo.

Coming from a 14 speaker system +infinity bass link sub in my infiniti q50, it's not terrible.
I use the Camaro sound only to supplement my exhaust.
I used the infiniti system to drown away the engine noises the Q50 made. Lol
