Stock NPP vs. Borla Atak
Hey everybody, I was wondering if anybody out there could tell me how much louder the Borla Atak axle back is than the stock NPP in track mode. I've looked at a bunch of threads but I can't find anyone that compares the volume to stock and Its just too hard to tell from a YouTube video. I'm looking for something a little louder because the stock NPP just doesn't do it for me. Replies are much appreciated. 👍👍👍

It's a big difference. I have the ATAK with NPP and the 60606 X and mid pipe secondary cat delete ( No AFM to worry about with me I have a M6). With NPP close it sounds about the same as Stock NPP Open. A little more aggressive not too much tho Ur neighbors should not be unhappy when you come home. However on Cold Start It will be Loud for about a minute or so until the engine idles back down. With NPP Open, It sound very aggressive on Take off, Rev Matches, And WOT. But regular Cruising No Drone at all. If you are worried about Atak being too loud you might want to go with the S type. I love mine...

Hey parbreak please let me know what you think after you get it installed. 👍
I've actually heard the S-type in person and though it sounded great, I still wanted just a little more volume. I'm not planning on removing the secondary cats or doing any other exhaust mods. I'm also trying to decide if I want to get the ones with the valves or save the money to put towards something else. Im going FI soon so most of my money I have saved up is going towards that. |

I have the atak npp axleback with all the rest of the factory exhaust intact, and i couldnt be happier. It is loud, but sounds great with no drone. It is a huge difference from the factory npp. I kept my stock npp in track mode all the time, and i keep my atak in track mode all the time. My neighbors can deal with it lol

I have the Borla Attak Axle back with NPP valves and love it! Gives the Camaro a much more deeper tone and still keeps the Camaro like sound too. No drone is a plus too! On cold starts, it even sounds like an aftermarket cam for a little bit. I will 100% be keeping this exhaust since I am in love with the note of it.

Hey guys I areally appreciate all of the replies to my thread. Just from what y'all have said about it leads me to believe that the Atak is what I'm looking for. Now I need to decide if it's worth keeping the valves or save some money. I keep my stock NPP in track mode all of the time, however, the Atak is louder so I may use them when I leave out of my neighborhood in the morning. What do y'all think? Hey also, is there any weight savings with the Atak?

I bought mine without the valves so it's loud 24/7! It's really loud at Cold Start for a minute like Kingpin said, but it will quite down when it idles down.

Even the NPP is a little loud at start up if you have it set in track mode all of the time. I may want to get the valves because I can have the valves closed when I start it up in the morning. Is there a certain volume percentage y'all would say the Atak is compared to the the stock NPP? Like 10%, 20% etc?

Curious...How many have the 60606 and the ATAK or just the ATAK axle back?

I've decided to go without the valves. I never use them now and I have a really good feeling I'll never use them in the future. I always like to hear my exhaust. However, what do you guys think about the Borla S-type? I like loud but not obnoxious. I'm also going FI soon. Would I be better off doing the S or stick with the Atak?

From the YouTube videos I've watched, the S-Type sounds just a little louder/deeper than stock NPP in track mode. Could be wrong though.

I've heard the same as well. S-type is more growl like with that deeper tone. Very sexy. But the Atak is a screamer. S-type is def louder than stock track mode without a doubt
