door speakers 6x9 nonbose 1LT

i am wanting to upgrade just my door speakers with some jbl 6x9's that are rated at 2.3 ohm. if i were to just replace these door speakers not changing the amp or anything else will this give an improvement and help with the distortion that the factory non-bose speakers have ? i listen to a lot of hip-hop,pop music and the non bose system sounds adequate but i want something that will clear up distortion and give a little more to the car. Also the exact speakers I'm looking at are JBL gx963.

Definitely should make a difference...suggest you check out Pioneer's 4 way 6x9's, awesome speakers!
