Took my wife to the Track

I thought I'd share my latest track video with you guys. SCCA had a track night at Motorsports ranch here locally. I got my wife to ride shotgun and it was an experience! We don't do well when we get into a competitive environment and this wasn't different. Anyway, enjoy the video.

I was out there parked next to you with my son. Sign up for one of the three upcoming 3.1-mile configurations at MSR-Cresson in October & November. Some of us are, and it should be a blast!

Nice. I can't even coax my wife into riding around on low-speed parade laps any more (one time of that was enough for her).

Out of curiosity, what run group was that? I was seeing some rather odd lines and almost an aversion to getting down to the apex in a couple of cases.

And one about 4 minutes in that looked like a slightly later apex on the first of those very tight esses than you were taking.

It was the "intermediate" run group. SCCA Track Nights are very lax in you choose what run group you want. Some people get into higher groups that they shouldn't be in. It's great for people just wanting to spend an afternoon pushing their cars for cheap. Not great if you're looking for a personal best.

Thanks for the invite! I love that you and your son were running out there. I'm headed to COTA in November so I'll probably miss the 3.1 in the next couple months. But I'll look it up and see if I can make it work.

I have only been at COTA once and the 3.1 once as well, both within a week or so of each other a few weeks ago. I actually like the 3.1 at Cresson better. COTA is a fantastic (as in super fantastic) facility, but ~half of COTA is made up of the two super long straights. Don't get me wrong, I'll race at COTA more in the future, but the two day events there are almost 3 times the price of the two days at MSR-Cresson's 3.1 for the same amount of track time.

Apex, Driver's Edge, & Edge Addicts all have events on the 3.1 in the 4Q17.
