ZL1 Mod results

Finally got my parts installed, car tuned, and dyno ran.

2017 ZL1 with M6. Tuned by JMS Racing in San Antonio. I should have some video on the dyno from them at some point.

Stock dyno was on a different dyno (Dynocom) during the spring. I made 521whp/515wtq.

Mods: Rotofab, Tony Mamo TB, Kooks headers with green cats, 18% LPE lower pulley, E85 Flexfuel sensor.

Dyno/tune on 93: 633whp/674wtq
Dyno/tune on E40: 661whp/703wtq

Overall impressive: 140 rwhp gain, albeit on different dynos. I'm surprised you gain only 29 rwhp on E40 over 93. I thought it would be more.

Either way, nice end results.

Yeah, I wish I knew the true delta from stock, but I really didn't like the original shop I went to, so I have no desire to go back.

Thanks!

Great! Nice work! Is Dynocom a Mustang Dyno?

No, it is different from a Mustang and DynoJet. From what I've read it usually reads somewhere in between the two.

Every 6th ZL1 I've seen stock dynos of have been between 550-565. Yours is a manual so I'd expect it to put down about 560 on a dyno jet. Since your final numbers were 661, you got about a 100 RWHP I would guess. Those are typical numbers that one should at least expect. Some cars are putting down 660 on 93 and 700 wheel on E40 (They have ported blowers, but the rest is identical). Green cats may have cost you an extra 5-10 RWHP.

Well, number are just numbers so I don't try to read into them too much. It's all speculation with different dynos being used. Green cats could have cost some, but that doesn't bother me. Hell, my car could even be one that just dynos lower.

I'll tell you what though, it is much faster, more responsive, and a hell of a lot louder than it was before!

This is exactly the route I'm considering. If you don't mind what was the cost? I would like to compare it against a whipple.

Wanted to know if Anyone has used this setup? Any heat issues? Getting different feedback from shops. Thanks in advance!

Zl1 doesn't need the idler.
