Replaced one red Chevy, for another red Chevy

Hey there fellows - new comer on the scene. My name is Harry, and I recently joined your ranks as a proud owner of a 17 ZL1 6MT. I have researched a few different Camaro forums, and this one came across as the most informative, with good representation of ZL1 owners. So I'm happy to be here, and look forward to learning from you folks, and engaging in some conversations.

Below is a pic of my 16 SS 6MT, and then below that is the new ZL1.

Ha ya know - I'm partial to black.
But the cars I like tend to be extremely hard to find! As such I needed to make compromises... I can't compromise on the manual tranny, so color it is.
I could say that red has grown on me

Beautiful ZL1 and SS sedan, welcome to the forums and congratulations on the new purchase!

I see you're a manual only kind of guy, I love that! The SS sedan is one of the few sedans you can get with a manual trans.

A little off topic but how do you like the SS sedan? I'm seriously considering buying one before there gone!

How do you like the SS? Was considering one vs a Charger 392 Scat Pack for my second car.

No offense to the Auto's out there, I respect the lightning quick shifting, and the track calibration to find just the perfect spot out of 10 gears to be in. That said, for me it has to be a manual - the thrill of rowing the gears, and having control is worth the slight loss in speed to the auto.

As far as the SS sedan is concerned - I have to tell you that it's a sweet overall package. There is truly nothing like it anymore, rear wheel drive large sedan with a manual and an awesome LS3, and to top it off it handles along the lines of cars twice it's price! I need to mention the exhaust tuning - Holy crap those Aussies make that engine sing, I dare say much better than the ZL1. It's the type of car you want to keep for a long time because it can do everything really well. Be prepared to extend your search out fairly wide, as the manual is a rare bird in the flock.

Hey there I just responded on the SS, you can see it in the thread.

Absolutely the SS over the 392 Charger/Challenger! It's like a Ducati sport bike vs a Harley (from 10 years ago), one can dance all around the track, the other, well can't. Not to mention you will see a Charger/Challenger everywhere, you will rarely spot an SS.

Good luck.

I hear you - and I know that the Auto is cool, and it's superior to the old school ways. I will switch over when my left knee hurts, or I get tired of you auto boyz passing me

The SS held it's value well, they gave me $40,500 for the car. Although it did only have 6,100 miles (I had it for 1.5 years).
