That's a tough one... If they pay for it then great! Probably would get a customer for life. If not, you'll just have to suck it up. It's not really their fault.

Don't expect for them to pay but hope that they will.

I'm no expert but $1300 maybe a bit much.

Two cinder blocks are placed in your blind spot on their property where they sell new cars? Id bash in there like a bat out of hell and demand they fix it or sue.

Here is some info on slip and fall which a lawyer would/could use to argue it was their fault, which after reading looks to be in your favor. Go back in there and threaten them. Don't be soft.

Quote:
This latter requirement implies that people must be aware of, and avoid, obvious dangers.
Quote:
In most cases, a person injured in a slip and fall on someone else's property must prove that the cause of the accident was a "dangerous condition," and that the owner or possessor of the property knew of the dangerous condition. A dangerous condition must present an unreasonable risk to a person on the property, and it must have been a condition that the injured party should not have anticipated under the circumstances. This latter requirement implies that people must be aware of, and avoid, obvious dangers.

In order to establish that a property owner or possessor knew of a dangerous condition, it must be shown that:

The owner/possessor created the condition;
The owner/possessor knew the condition existed and negligently failed to correct it; or
The condition existed for such a length of time that the owner/possessor should have discovered and corrected it prior to the slip and fall incident in question.
The owner being the dealer. They also provided unsafe driving conditions on their property. My gfs in lawschool, I ask her when I get home, but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up owing you money.

Wow, that is a terrible sequence of events. I would be pissed! Have you spoken with the dealerships service manager yet? If not, I would start there and see if you can work out some kind of deal. If they flat out refuse to help, I would let them know they will never sell you another car and leave shitty feedback on the survey they send you. You might end up eating the repair bill but you can make it hurt for them also. Any dealer worth their weight would take care of that considering the circumstances.

Man...this really does suck. Howver, JMHO, getting angry and threatening the dealership probably would not go in your favor, after all, you were the one driving, not them. I would ask the dealership if they could be so kind to offer you maybe 25% off the repair if you use their body shop. Maybe they would have some empathy for you and be willing to offer some help. Good Luck.

But 1300$ Is a number. I would suggest 500$ for a smart repair job.

First off that sucks sorry to hear that, second 1300 is probably close to where everyone will be, hyper blue metallic will be tough to match so they will have to do a lot of prep and paint to get it right. There is a mark in my paint and was told to ignore it unless I wanted to paint the entire roof of the car. And it's almost un noticeable

Oh damn!
I would be hurt!
Man I'm really sorry how that went, thats terrible.
Unfortunately like many others have stated, it will be hard pinning that on a dealer. Yeah some say get a Lawyer, take them to court, bladda bladda..by the time thats over you'll be 6 months into owning the car and well over $1,300 in attorney / court fees.. you're going to have to eat this one. I know it's not what you want to hear.. but the other way around will cost you alot more :(

I'm sure though it will be well worth it when its done.. Thats just how things go sometimes, something always has to spoil the fun.

I'm the kind of person that it takes a lot to piss me off and get me going but as you have described the scenario, I would be at my limit.

I think I would ask for a meeting with the General Manager and after explaining your situation ask him to pay for half of the repairs. He has the authority to do it and he wants his customers to be happy.

$1300 doesn't seem unreasonable as a retail price, the GM charging you at half would probably still cover his cost and I bet he will be willing to do it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Congrats on the new Camaro.
