Info to help the SS 1LE sub install peeps out

Just a FYI, if you are going to use a Kicker amp and are planning on using the high level input option by routing the speakers to the amp thus taking advantage of the voltage sensing turn on here is some info.

The Kicker amps only use the left RCA input to control the voltage sensing turn on. It works fine on the radio, but once you go to USB or BT the voltage drops enough that the amp will turn off.

So then if you jumper out of the rear fuse panel on one of the 12v switched fuses to the 12v turn on port that will work, BUT it will cause problems as well.

If you use the high level input and the 12v switched turn on, when the amp sees the high level input and turns on, it then actually takes the 12v turn on lead and turns it into a trigger. So then when you turn the car off the amp keeps the 12v turn on lead hot, which then in turn feeds 12v back into the rear fuse panel and feeds the circuit you tapped into and keeps that circuit hot.

It will run your battery down if you do this...!!!

Make sure and test your amp if you use the 12v turn on lead, make sure once the car is off that the 12v turn on lead is dead. If it isnt and is still hot then you will need to use a LOC converter and convert the high level speaker input into a low level speaker input. Then the 12v trigger will work as it should.

Just figured I would share what I learned in talking with Kicker today and the work I did on the car chasing down this voltage draw.

Any questions post up and I can share more if needed...
