[VR] 800+rwhp ZL1-1LE gets modified at Vengeance Racing

Vengeance Racing has just finished modifying one of the first 2018 Camaro ZL1-1LE cars to hit the streets in the country! One of our great clients sold off his Vengeance tuned Kenne Bell powered 5th gen ZL1 and has been waiting patiently for 10 months for the ZL1 1LE to finally arrive. This customer wasted no time, and had us pick up the car directly from the dealership to start modifying it the very next week after it arrived. As many here know, the ZL1-1LE was designed to be not only an extreme track weapon, but also a very comfortable street car for those using it for more than race use. That being said, this particular customer's goal was to have a powerful street performer to take to local events as well as 1/2 mile races, and just have the 1LE package for the "WOW" factor of the car itself.

For this vehicle, we put together a proven combination focused around our LT4 Stage IV package with the addition of methanol injection and E85 flex fuel. This combination includes:

  • · Vengeance Racing CNC Ported LT4 Cylinder Heads
  • · Vengeance Racing Stage III Camshaft Kit
  • · Vengeance Racing 4" Cold Air Intake System
  • · Kooks Performance 2" Longtube Headers w/ Off-Road Conn. Pipes
  • · Vengeance Racing Spark Plug Wire Inuslators
  • · Bullet Performance Axle-Back Exhaust System
  • · Griptec 2.30" Upper Pulley
  • · ATI Balancer with 9.17" Lower Ring
  • · Vengeance Racing E85 Flex Fuel Sensor Kit (stock fuel system)
  • · AlkyControl Dual Nozzle Methanol Injection System

After installation was completed in just 3 days, we headed to the dyno for final tuning. The result was an extremely powerful 734rwhp/652rwtq on 93 octane, and 801rwhp/725rwtq on E85! This combination provides an extremely heavy lope at idle while retaining excellent driveability and a usable RPM range up to 6,700 RPM!!

Stay tuned for performance results, as well as Phase 2 of this project coming later in the year. There just may be a twin-turbo ZL1-1LE on the street of Georgia sooner than later!

If you have any questions on this setup or would like to discuss a performance package for your Gen 6 Camaro SS or ZL1, feel free to e-mail us at sales@vengeanceracing.net or call us at 678-513-7105.

Very Impressive.

800 was my magic number, so glad to see it's doable. What's the roundabout pricing for this?

How is long term reliability with this setup? What maintenance needs to be done aside from regular fluid changes? Looks promising!!!

Thank you! We should have package pricing out shortly on our website. In the mean time, shoot me an e-mail at david@vengeanceracing.net and I can gladly quote it out for you.

Reliability would be as good, if not better than OEM with all of the upgraded valvetrain components that we include (C5R timing chain, trunion upgrade on the rockers, dual valve springs, hardened pushrods, upgraded lifters, ARP head bolts/studs, etc.). We do recommend a Royal Purple HPS oil with our aftermarket camshafts and intervals of 3,000 miles on changes. Also we use NGK LTR7IX plugs that will be changed a bit more frequently than OEM. Otherwise maintenance is exactly the same as you would have stock.

This makes me chuckle... DSSV shocks + all hard mounted suspension = comfortable...

Respect on the work and the 3 day turnaround. VR's work is definitely nothing short of exceptional... but those items above gave me a grin for sure

The car was engineered to turn at a high rate of speed. It is a waste to increase the horsepower and "race" the car in a straight line. And all that additional power won't do a thing on a road course if the driver doesn't have the skill.

To each his own, though.

I made essentially the same comment on Facebook. If the owner is really looking for straight-line speed, the standard ZL1 with A10 and this build would have been a much better choice. I can only imagine all the Camaro 1LE engineers shaking their heads in unison and saying wtf?
