Keyfob will NOT UNLOCK my car! HELP!

Brand new camaro! Was heading to gym today but when I tried to unlock my door with the keyfob still in my pocket the door wouldn't open so I took out my keyfob and tried to unlock and NOTHING! So I logged into my Chevrolet app on my iPhone and tried to unlock it from there and again still no success! So I had to manually unlock with the key. When I am in my car I can't even lock or unlock the doors when I press on the buttons on both drivers and passengers side. Wtf !

You may need to check your settings...

Sorry what setting are you talking about ? Are you suggesting I have to do hardware reset ? None of this makes any sense right now ... everything worked perfectly fine for 3 month now. I could always unlock and lock my car with either with keyfob or with the keyless proximity.

Mine did the same. Changed out fobs for a few days and it returned to normal. Dealer said something about freqs sometimes getting crossed with EMT's and 5-0 freqs.

Never had the door issue once inside the cabin tho.

I don't think it's an issue with my fob since when I press unlock the front and red reverse lights come on. The fact that I can't unlock my car using my iPhone app means something else is wrong. Could it be a fuse ?

Start looking up when you FOB doesn't work.

High Power Transmitters like Cellular and Radar Sites, Police/Commercial Radios/Repeaters, Microwave Transmitters etc, will likely block your low power(<100mw) Key FOB.

If that's not the problem you can try disconnecting the cars battery to reset the system and change the Key FOB Battery.

If that doesn't work the Dealer will need to Re-Flash the FOBS

Unfortunately we live in a high RF world, almost all appliances these days emit RF.

Most likely not.

There's a encoded multicode (for lack of a longer post) that the Key FOB has to activate to accomplish a handshake with the car in order to unlock it

If pressing the lock/unlock buttons inside does nothing, to me it has to be something more than a key fob/interference issue. Don't have any clues as to what it could be tho... sorry!

I've seen a couple of videos about the hidden key in the fob...

Hope this helps...

That first video contained an interesting fact that I did not know: Even if the fob battery is dead, if you drop your fob into the rearmost of the 2 cup holders, there is circuitry in the car that will read the fob and allow the car to start.

So, dead fob does not mean dead car.

Not sure about the coupes but the inside unlock buttons are disabled if the doors are locked on the convertibles. Supposed to keep someone from reaching in and unlocking the doors I guess - but if you pull the inside handles twice the door will open.

Happened to me a couple times. Just spam the unlock button from outside the car.
