Question for those who swapped out their Goodyears?

I recently put on some Nitto NT555 G2's on my rear that are 275/30/20. Same as the OEM tires except a smaller profile. I kept the tire pressure about the same as the OEM tires. Basically, when I step on it on the car, the tires don't spin as much as the Goodyears, but the car in generally gets a little swirly. Anyone else have similar experiences? Might it be the smaller tire profile? What PSI are you guys running on your tires?

BTW, these tires are temporary as I'm waiting for some wheels I ordered to come in and then those NT555 G2's will be swapped to the front and getting some NT555R's in the back (305/35/20). So that might help stabilize the car more?

Same thing here I went with the stock size Sumitomo HTR ZIII's and the car grips a bit better but seems to sway away from the line.

Be careful mixing tire types front and rear, and changing tire profiles.

I went with stock size Continental DWS 06. They do not spin as much as the stock run-flats. I find that to be a good thing.

I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,
but why don't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself.

Yeah, looks like a lot of diff brand tires don't spin as much as the run-flats. Did you notice your cars behavior change however? Especially under WOT?

Not that much. However, I changed tires shortly after break-in so I never pushed the run-flats that hard.

I had a g8 gt that I put Sumitomos on and now I've done the same with my Fifty. however I'm not getting the issues that you are. Mine seem just as tight as the oem tire that I had on. These are good tires and they are not to expensive. Especially if you stay stock size. Got all 4 for 648.00.

Went to Nitto invos from the goodyears, ride quieter, handling fine, I am a DD guy, not a track guy. The Goodyears being run flats, ride hard, and therefore they can spin the tires better. I don't care about any Of that. Just passed 10k miles, tread life still looks almost new. This is my third set of invo's on cars, they are a great value and work perfect for me.

Replaced run-flats with Continental ExtremeContact Summer tires. Looking to sell my stock run-flats with < a thousand miles on them if there is any interest out there.

If you haven't done so already, you should post in the Wheels/Tires section of Member Classifieds
