Are you guys pulling timing with basic bolt on's and NO TUNE?

16' SS A8
Mods:
Rotofab CAI
PRAY Ported IM / TB
MBRP Catback
STOCK TUNE

Any of you guys with similar mods with STOCK tune pulling timing? Don't really want to spend $ on a aeroforce gauge just to log timing at this point until I find any one person that has seen definite timing retard with these type of mods.

Thanks in advance!

My mod list is quite similar (GM CAI, Katech ported TB, PRAY ported IM). I need to do some data logging and will find out shortly. No noticeable downside in drivability so far. The car does have the GM CAI MAF tune on it, but your Rotofab shouldn't require that.

Yes, sure would appreciate checking back to show us your logs. Did you notice any improvements on your butt dyno?

Any others?

Will gather them, need to do that anyway to start tuning.

Improvement is very noticeable with this combo. Car feels like it's gained more displacement due to increase in torque and power through the entire power band. I credit a lot of it to PRAY's IM since I did the mods in stages.

Did you do any 0-60 and 1/4 mile pulls?

I have the Gm cold air.(no tune) since i am in california. I also have the katech TB and will be installing a pray ported IM within thw next couple days. I was worried it would run too lean with this combo or maybe throwsome codes. @fifty any drivability problems on the stock tune? since i would have the same setup as you?

All of my testing was done with the Roto-fab CAI and the stock GM CAI. I can't say what your trims or fueling will do with any other CAI on the car. As far as I am tracking, the RF CAI is the only one that will maintain the stock AFR curve. You are looking for -LTFT's. Look at your steady state and idle trims for the best average. Off throttle can get skewed with DFCO and other things.

OP- I am a little confused by your post. Why do you think your car is pulling timing? The stock tune in the heat will pull timing and show KR. Mine did it stock. Email or PM me with your questions for a more in depth conversation about what you are actually looking for. Thanks.
