The "official" After Market speaker thread

Come on guys let's get rid of these factory speakers. Only problem is not much of us know how to do it and we need to figure out what fits. Thread is for all info on DIY speaker replacement and what speakers are the best to get. Not a thread for Subs. Here's a couple links of what we know so far.
Door panel removal.

I would love to throw some JL Audio C2-650 component speakers in the front and the C2-650X 2 ways in the rear. Had these in my 5th gen except the rears were 6X9. Loved them. Getting to the dash tweeters I have no Idea how I would do that because I have not seen any write ups or anything on that.

All right, now you have to be specific about which system you are working on. The speakers in the Bose systems are all 2 ohm impedance. Not sure how it breaks down for the non-Bose. You can't put 2 ohm speakers in a system that cannot handle that load. You can replace 2 ohm speakers with 4 ohm, but that would be stupid unless you are adding an amp.

You can't expect any discernible improvement by just swapping speakers.

For door panel removal don't forget Lethal Camaro has a great video showing the process. It certainly helped me when replacing speakers with Infinity Kappas.

Good point. I have a 1SS non Bose. Thread can be for any of the different systems. Posters should specify which factory system they have.

Right. Swapping speakers before you have even added an aftermarket amp and sub would be in the wrong order. I've done that already myself and now want to do the speakers.

I've added his video to the opening post.

Did you do components and put the tweeter in the dash or Coaxials with tweeter on the speaker?
