Drivetrain Vibration

over the last month I have experiencing an increasing and intermittent vibration that feels like an unbalanced wheel. So I had the wheels balanced and it still happens. I can't correlate it to a particular speed, pavement condition or load on the motor. When I put the car in neutral, the vibration goes away.

Anyone else experience this? Ideas about the cause? I have appointment at dealer next week.

thanks,

I don't have an A8 car, but from other threads here I've read I would guess torque converter shudder. If I'm right, it's a dealer warranty fix.
The vibration going away in neutral only strengthens that theory IMO.

Yeah I've been noticing this more recently. Once my car went over 5k miles it started doing it. It does feel like an unbalanced tire. It shudders when giving it gas only when low in RPM's and higher gears. I also have a slipping of 1st to 2nd when taking off really slow like in a parking lot. It catches into 2nd really late. I am reading people saying that they are getting the converter replaced but I figure it will just do it again after 5k miles.
