RE-71Rs on stock wheels

Just wanted to see if anyone is running RE-71Rs? For the front (stock wheel) they only come in 285x35x20 or 295x30x20. Will the 295 rub? I'd prefer to stick with the same aspect ratio. It's only 10mm more than stock but wanted to get some feedback.

Thanks,

See there, states that user Provoste may have used the 295s on 20s.

EDIT: Whoops.. Looks like user in question beat me to it while I was typing.. lol

Thanks,
I believe the 285/35 which are 3/4-1 inch taller than OEM Goodyears may rub the strut with max camber and also rub the fender liner when turning. 'Provoste' on this forums runs 295/30/20 with no issues.

I believe Provoste runs 2.9F with a bit of extra "help". But 2.6 is NP on stock bolts.

Thanks. Indeed- I maxed out at -2.3 before some metal persuasion.

I have 305/30/19 square setup on my 1le, tsw 10.5 wheels..

Feels great, the track time treadwear is no bueno. They're grippy. The own tires hold about 90-95 max lateral grip I'd say in comparison. I'll stick with my re71 set.

There's not man options opposed to Michelins pss & cup2 which run 1700 a set or 2k.... and wear

On track I have a balanced understeer. Very noticeable but EXTREMELY predictable and manageable. OEM 20s understeered even more

Well I found out the hard way that you will get some rubbing from the lower spring perch even with stock tires on the front. Especially when driving around Charlotte MSW and the 24deg banks at 1.5 g's. Lol Rubbed the inside edge all the way to the chords. Provoste when you say metal persuasion I assume you meant that you bent the spring perch up a bit?

He ground some metal off the OEM struts for clearance and elongated the strut holes on the top a few mms to gain neg camber

I believe Glamcem did the same

Yes you have to do this in order to fit anything over stock sizes without issues. It's very easy to do, pm me if you need tips
