Smile Best addons for the 2016 Camaro

Im looking for a list of bolt-on's or just general products that add a little bit of horsepower or even a lot of horsepower. It doesn't matter the price of the addon but please list below the addon and how much hp or tq its supposed to add(if you dont know still feel free to post). I am just looking to get a little bit of hp and tq out of every part of the car. Of course eventually I want to put a supercharger, pro charger, or turbo kit on the car but for now im just trying to take the small gains.

This is going to be obvious....but I'll say it anyways. DR's. If you can't hook, it doesn't matter how much HP you have.

There's a thread on this. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...472259&page=13

Basically these motors are tits from the factory. It costs a lot of $ for small gains. That being said...I'm still planning on a ported TB from Pray Performance.

I was gonna get my ported TB from VMAX, why did you choose Pray Perf. over any other brand?

Some guesses:

E-85 25 HP $150-300
Headers 19 HP $850- $2,000 depending on brand, cat/no-cat, x-pipe etc
Pray Ported IM 12 HP $350
Pray Ported TB 6 HP $175
Roto Fab dry Air Box/filter 6-13 HP $459
Tune 9 HP $400 + HP tuners $500
Pray ported heads 28 HP $1,200

YMMV!

Pray has done a lot of testing and porting on the 6th gen

His work looks awesome. He just goes that extra mile.
Look at the pics of his porting compared to others...you'll see what I'm talking about.

Nice. How about adding a ballpark cost on those? Bang-for-the-buck and all that.

aside from the porting, he also works on the blade bar as you can see on this pic. Cut down for even more flow.

I would just jump right in and do a forced induction. I added an E-force before the car left the lot and very happy I did.

Keep in mind that if you do any engine mods, the canned tunes that come with the FI kit may not be compatible and you will either have to remove them, or get a custom tune (more expense).

Be patient and save your money for an FI kit if that is what you really want.

That is legit right there. F/I from the lot. Love it.

If you do F/I just ensure you do everything for it. Especially meth or meth/water depending on the kit you go with. That way you will pretty much have the same power year round.

If you want a solid bolt on list then click my name in my avatar and go to statistics. There is a ton of information regarding basically every bolt on you can do including ported heads. Good luck with you decisions.

How's your driver mod? If you're not getting 100% from that, you'll get diminishing returns on other stuff.

Nice, absolute truth in that statement. Driver is the most over looked mod out there.

So far for now the gains i feel after adding a ported TB to my CAI intake really seemed the best bang for the buck... I still can't get over how much the ported TB makes such a difference all around low to high.

Mine always seems to need some adjustment and is prone to bouts of "WTF was that" when watching people try to merge in traffic.

Pray brings up a good point in that you really, really, need to have an end point in mind. having been around the block a few times I've come to realize that there is a practical limit for power on the streets. It's nice to have bragging rights with a 800 rwhp car, but the joy goes away when pulling the engine every 25K miles to re-build it or you trash the differential for the 4th time. (I'm staring at my 420 awhp Audi TT sitting in the corner as I type this; broke again.)

The manufacture's of the FI systems are smart people. Their systems are designed and tuned to optimize power, drivability, and longevity. I can certainly crank up my E-force to 800 rwhp, but the probability of premature engine failure goes up exponentially...unless I spend lots more money. IMHO, the 550 rwhp that all of the FI base kits produces is just about perfect for the street.

If your plans are just "grand touring"/DD, throw a FI on it and give it a try. When lighting up the tires in the first four gears isn't enough, then start adding enhancements.

That said, Pray is the man to talk to if you go the NA route. His porting and polishing work will gain you more than the traditional "headers and catback" that is party line here.
