Question regarding Rock Guards.
I'll be taking delivery on my 1SS on Monday. I live in Tucson, AZ and the roads are bad. I will definitely be getting a clear bra, but will have to wait.
My question for anyone to answer... do the GM rock guards help? I remember on my two 5th Gens that wheel spin made the sides of the car annoying with dirt and grime and a few rock chips. Do you think I need both front and rear with the 6th? Or just rock guards behind the front wheel? Also, cheapest site to buy the GM rock guards? Thank you guys in advance. I think the ZL1addons provide more coverage. I put 1k miles on my car with them before getting the clear bra and haven't noticed any chipping.

I currently have the zl1addons rock guards on my car as well. I also live in Tucson and just recently put 315s on in the rear so they were definitely a necessity. I haven’t had any problems with them whatsoever so I highly recommend them!

Is there a big difference between the standard ones and the ZL1?

I'm going to go with the cheaper version. I don't live in an area where theirs lots of dirt roads/gravel drive ways. If they prove horrible Ill let you know.

ZL1 addons deluxe is the way to go for protection. Still tape up the font of the 1/4 panels for track days though.

I purchased the GM "splash guards" for my SS 1LE. But, I hesitated to install them because I felt they would not provide sufficient protection. Therefore, I went with ZL1addons premium instead, plus Xpel. Great protection for street use. Concur to do some taping forward of the rear wheels for track days. The GM "splash guards" probably are sufficient for all of the other models except ZL1 and V6 1LE. But no matter the model, I would recommend Xpel the front fascia/splitter, hood, entire hood, front fenders, rocker panels in full, and behind the rear tires on the bumper cover. This I did (minus the hood due to 1LE wrap) plus Xpel on the A-pillars and leading roof. So far, so good.
