Disconnecting ANC mic?

I've been finding conflicting information on disconnecting the ANC mic.
My booming sound from the sub seems to be getting worse, now I can notice it kicking in on the highways also and I'd like to disconnect the ANC mic.
Some say by disconnecting the mic wires only(instead of unplugging the whole connector), you only disable ANC.
Others say you still lose the alert chimes and cross traffic beeps too.

Can any of you experts confirm either statements?

Thanks in advance.

Dan

Just unplug the mics in the doors like many of us have done...

That's basically the equivalent of clipping the 4 wires on the amp connector, correct?

I'm just worried about introducing more noise/rattle after removing and reinstalling the door panels.
I can always solder the wires back on if needed.

So with the mic disconnected on yours, you have all the chimes and functions except just the ANC?

Thank you for the confirmation. Much appreciated.
Did you notice any increase in road/tire noise after disconnecting them?

You only need to clip one wire for each microphone to break the circuit.

True, so 1 wire of 'microphone 1' and 1 from 'microphone 2', right?
Either the 'signal' or the 'low reference'?

Did someone take a pic of these mics location? Right now I have the right door panel off but am having a hard time locating the mic. I 'm looking at the door parts diagram and see 23331244 identified as the mic but just can't see it my 2LT RS with Bose system. I appreciate any pointers
