New Owner

Hey everyone, just picked up a 17 hyper blue 1le and from the first test drive I knew it was a special car.

Plans are to lower it currently it looks like a 4x4 lol, I will be on the look out for some black and stone leather knee pads and the gm blacked out tails.

My previous ride was a 15 GTR, in terms of technology they are very similar I only miss looking at gauges on the infotainment screen. I haven't seen that option for my link it would be a cool upgraded feature.

In terms of performance the GTR was a faster car, mine was modded but I would have to spend $30k to go to the next stage. I wasn't willing to spend that kinda money.

I owned 2 GTR's a 10 and 15 and I have to say I give the Camaro the edge on styling. The gtr is unchanged since 09 and it still looks the same, same motor same trans. I was also getting really sick of the attention I used to get in that car. Every time I drive it someone wanted to race me, have a stop light conversation or approach me in a parking lot and talk about it for 20mins. It gets old quick.

Final point is Maintenance, track days are expensive for the gtr and it's a fraction of the price for the 1LE. Smiles per dollar are wat higher.

Plans for the 1LE, lower it asap it looks like a 4x4 lol
LT4 supercharger or Procharger kit.
Runs 10's and hit up Daytona for some open track days.

Welcome to the addiction! This is one sweet driving car for sure, and it's quite a testament to the car's capabilities given what owners like yourself are transitioning from!

Congrats!

I have to ask though, reading your immediate plans, why not start with the ZL1?

Also FYI, lowering it will impact the MRC calculations as the car uses its ride height sensors to adjust the dampers in real time. You may not notice it however. One 1LE owner put on lowering springs and has already went back to stock. The easiest way to minimize the 4x4 look is to get the track alignment. That tucks in the tires a bit.

How does the track alignment affect tire wear for "normal" driving?

Give the ride height about a month to settle. Once the springs are broken in you might be happier with the height.

Wow crazy change up from a GTR! But yes the performance per dollar has to be about the best offering in the automotive world currently with the 1LE SS.
