Your Camaro Experience!

Hey, everyone.

I'm thinking about buying a new Camaro 2SS. However, I'm on the fence with a Challenger Scat Pack. Both will be the 2017 model.

How's reliability in your Camaro SS or regular Camaro? I mean, I know you all love your cars, but what kind of trouble does it give within the first 2 years of ownership?

Mine is still brand new well 1300 miles no issues so far, never had an issue with my 5th Gen and I had that for almost 8 years, and so far I have had my 17 2SS convertible since mid April.

I suggest driving both see which you prefer.

I've got 33k on mine. Good so far.

Some have had many issues. Majority have had few. Owning a car is like a box of chocolates.

My friend bought a 16 Scat around the same time I bought my 16 2SS. Neither of us has had any major issues or any issues at all. I have a lot more miles than he does (15K to 7K), and mine is modded where his isn't. His only complaint is that the original tires were useless, and I agree because I test drove one during my process of buying the Camaro.

I preferred the Dodge for its back seat and trunk space and the technology in the computer/screen. I disliked it for its lack of tire for the HP/Torque and how big the car was physically and how it drove. It was a stick.

I preferred the Camaro for its seating position and looks and drive. The Camaro "felt" slower than the Chally Scat. I ended up with the Camaro for its overall feel when driving. My car turned out to be faster at the track than my buddy's stock vs. stock at Bradenton. 12.3 for me at 112 and 12.7 for him at 109.

that's one thing I've noticed about the Camaro you do not feel the speed at all in my old 4th gen you would know how fast you were going in my 6th I find myself well over the speed limit quite a bit and not even realizing it you do have to be careful

both cars will be fairly reliable in the first 2 years. Unless you get one with some mfg issues. My only issue was delivery, they don't wrap the camaro's, not even the black ones. So when I got mine it looked like someone washed it with a Brillo pad. They made it right though. I'm happy with it now. I think you need to decide if you will be doing mainly straight line racing, or if you like carving up turns. I think the camaro is the clear winner in drive-ability.

Hey man, I was on a similar fence. I was driving a 2007 Charger SRT and I test drove both the SS and Scat Pack. What really sold me was the maneuverability of the Camaro. I felt like I was driving a boat when in the Challenger and wanted it to feel more like a complete sport car instead of a drag car. With that said, Ive put 800 miles on my Camaro in 2 weeks and I am 100% satisfied with my decision.

This shocked me as well. I found the Camaro to handle better than my G35 with tight ass track coilovers. Very stout car, I can see why it's matched against the M4

Gun,

I've had my 2017 2SS for two months. Luv it.

I too considered several muscle cars & always do heavy research on what I buy

First, go drive the Camaro & be sure it fits you.

As for best buy in American Muscle, the Camaro wins every report I read. The Challenger came in third...after the Camaro & Mustang.

Here is the final word: Even Consumer Report said if you gotta have a gas guzzler, get the Camaro.

I read this board a lot while deciding; I never did see a singe reliability issue of any significance.

Trouble? Deciding which route; city or scenic, will put the biggest smirk on my face each morning I'm behind the steering wheel!

3k since March and no issues thus far except traffic and running through a tank of gas too quickly.

I'm a little over 12k and owned my 16 2SS since November. No issues at all, the only thing is my convertible top, there's a little flap that is sticking out when it closes but I have not seen any leaking.

Honestly if reliability is your biggest question on this post, you may want to rethink either of those choices. You're asking the wrong question
