Turns out it's made by CAI. Interesting that the OEM went that route. Either way, mine is on order.

I am waiting this out for now. Too many unanswered questions.

1- Will there be any legit power bump?
2- Will the warranty be transferred to a "Chevrolet Performance" warranty?
3- Will you get a copy of the tune incase a different dealer wrote over it?
4- Is this "tune" actually for gains, or just to tweak emissions (which is my guess)?

Performance warranty ?

I think tunes will just get codes off but never thought about that

I can probably answer one of those.

1. NOPE, unless you consider less than 5hp a "legit" power bump.

Honestly I don't expect good gains from this, I mainly just want it because it looks much better than the OEM intake on the car and in connection with my exhaust it may have a slightly better power bump. But for my uses I can't have it since even though it is an OEM "accessory" it would DQ from stock SCCA classing. :(

What we know now about it is that it's the CAI part but with the GM warranty behind it. The calibration is done to fix the MAF transfer function and make the car emissions compliant in non-CARB states.

Three other major threads about this intake. One in General and two in LT1 V8 Engine section. Lots of conflicting information, but I will be dynoing mine once it gets installed. My baseline with WCF is 408rwhp and i'll use the same dyno. Not the most ideal, but hopefully we'll all see something!

Not same day, same time, but it will give us an idea at least...

IIRC, vendors Pray and EFI-tuning found that the CAI brand airbox had a MAF offset, so that's why it needs the ECU tuned, to recalibrate the MAF.

Given the stock airbox is so good, any power gains would only be at the very top end of the RPM band, just like the Roto-Fab.
