1SS vs. 2SS 1LE

Does anyone know the difference between the two? What will the 2018 2SS 1LE have that the 1SS 1LE doesn't? (sorry, I edited the post for clarity)

On a 6th Gen., the 2SS can only get the 1LE suspension. On a 1SS you can get the full 1LE track package, which comes with a lot more than just the suspension. You can go to Chevrolet's website and build one to see the differences.

You can probably just look at what a 1SS vs 2SS non 1LE offers. Then add all of the 1LE bits (Recaros, 6 piston Brembos up front, suede steering wheel, suede shift knob, etc.) to the 2SS and it will get you a 2SS 1LE. Mainly the blind spot monitoring, Bose sound system, creature comforts like that.... auto dimming rear mirror and what not that the 1SS doesn't have.

Here is a (probably incomplete) list of stuff that the 2SS 1LE will have that the 1SS 1LE will not.

Bose Premium Audio system
Rear Park Assist (the sensors not the camera)
Seat/Mirror Memory Package
Dual Zone AC
Interior Spectrum lighting
Auto-dimming Mirrors
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Heated and Ventilated seats
Blind Zone alert
Universal Home Remote
Wireless charging
Heated Steering wheel

If there is anything I missed please correct me.

In 2018 you will be able to get the full factory 1LE package on either the 1SS or 2SS model.

Leather on the upper door sills and kneepads. Although it's not hard to add the kneepads to a 1SS.

Good list Egon...

+the Camaro illuminated door sills, but many add those to 1SS's easily anyway...like the leather knee pads noted above. Both available LPO (dealer installed option) or aftermarket on ebay, from Forum vendors, etc.

Spectrum lighting can be added as an LPO too, but don't see too many as it is PRICEY!

You don't appreciate the leather knee pads until you live with the stock plastic ones for about a week. Cheesy!

Pricing will set demand, as to me, if it is the full $6.5k add for RPO A1Y (1LE "Performance Package") that could be considered high because allot of the content is already in our cars, or can easily be added to the 1SS 1LE (e.g. Recaro front seats, leather rear seat, HUD, etc. already in 1SS 1LE pkg...can add illuminated sills, leather knee pads and HOPEFULLY heated ventilated seats soon as we have the correct heated and cooled Recaro front seats just not the CONTROLS - YET).

Bose would be nice as a free flow option, as the base 1SS sound system is a little weak IMO.

From what I hear the wireless charging sounds cool, but doesn't really work very well.

Heated and vented seats are our biggest wish list item I think.

Hope this helps...

The absence of the eLSD in the 2SS version is a really big deal, so I think that will serve to really help on pricing. I am guessing it will be closer to $4000 than $6500. This package is a great idea. Many people want the tighter, more responsive driving dynamics of the 1LE without the desire to track the car. This way, those people don't have to pay for a part they won't benefit from in daily driving their car. I never tracked mine, and still LOVED it for how it drove.

That eLSD is magic. Even with the 1LE suspension kit, it's obvious to me how much an eLSD would help the car out of turns.

Any word on PDR?

Why wouldn't it? The 1SS 1LE does, the ZL1 does. The 2SS 1LE is between that. The guys here have already found the 1SS 1LE Recaro's already have the heat/cool hardware in the seats themselves, just not the 2-zone HVAC controls and wiring harness to make them work.

Where did you hear a 2SS 1LE wouldn't?

From the 2018 Order Guide:

Page 4
RPO AQJ - 2SS Coupe, 1AK37 || Seats, front bucket, RECARO performance || A3 (3 - Requires (H0Y) Jet Black interior trim.)

Though, I only see A1X (V6 1LE), A1Y (1SS 1LE) and A1Z (ZL1 1LE) --- I do not see anything about the A1Y on 2SS or a 1LE Track Performance Package RPO for 2SS. However, that could be due to the "late availability" as listed on the Playbook for 2018.

Wait, the 2SS 1LE won't have the eLSD?
