I couldn't wait that long I really tried I gave in at 350 miles :/ how long did you wait?

I broke the rules a handful of times, mostly the under 80MPH, but for the most part I stayed fairly conservative. I did a handful of WOT launches at 1510 miles though...felt so good.

I gave her pretty hard around 1100 kilometers. And I do once in awhile now but I'm still trying to follow the break-in. I've been driving back and forth to work on the side roads instead of the highway I'm at about twelve hundred kilometers now going to do my first oil change soon.

I did, but to be fair, it happened fairly quickly. Between a 100 mile round-trip commute and not being able to leave it in the garage on my nights off, I probably took a grand total of a week to finish my break-in period.

I hit 1500 miles today at a stop light. Got a nice launch on Green. CAI goes in tommorow.

I am mostly sticking to it. Went above 4000 RPM a few times by accident, but they were on the roll and not launches. Currently at 614 miles.

Still don't understand the whole break in thing, it's not even required, it's not going to void anything if you don't follow it. I think it's dumb as hell, I didn't wait.

I waited til 1500 miles. Changed the oil/diff fluid and now I drive the snot out of her everyday.

I waited 1000 miles, 500 should be good IN MY OPINION. Break in on todays engines isn't absolutely necessary, but it's better to make sure everything functions correctly and not push a new engine too much.

I waited. Not sure why a manufacturer would give that recommendation if there wasn't some specific reason. It was a really good time for me to get to know the car as well. Hit 1500, changed all the necessary fluids and went to a track day. Happy car, happy driver.

I mostly followed manufacturer guide. Couple of hard shifts after 1000km, always varying load. At 1500km, changed oil, and tried some wot.
![]() Everyone has there own idea on break in, but it may have an effect on oil consumption later, if not done right. |
