Best deal in Canada?

Long story:

I'm in Alberta, factory ordered white SS 1LE a couple weeks before the 2017 MY cutoff, but the order was not accepted by factory so my order is cancelled :'(

I went back to the dealer pretty choked because I figured this out before they did, and told them to make it right or refund my deposit. They obviously didn't have allocation to order my car, but their sister dealership in another area had a nearly identical car on order for inventory. They are giving this order to me and "drop shipping" it to my local dealer.

So my initial offer from the dealership in April was invoice + 1% less $4,000 cash incentive. Total discount is approximately $7,000 which I am honestly pretty happy with. I just noticed that the May cash incentive is $4,500 but my TPW is early June and I've seen some people talking about 20% discounts over the summer.

Does anyone have any advice on how/when to negotiate the best deal? Should I expect better incentives/discounts in June? Since this was originally ordered for dealer inventory (not "factory ordered") I think I might be able to get an even better deal. I'd love to know your thoughts. Thanks all!

2017s are very hard to come by. I found one in Ontario which was likely the very last unsold dealer factory order. And that's after 3 other dealers couldn't find anything. Got about $6500 discount and happy with it. Whether they give me the extra $500 or not won't break the deal for me. Perhaps June will offer better incentives from GM, but frankly I really WANT this car after test driving one in Calgary at Jack Carter's. So prepared to potentially lose some $ in order to drive mine away on May 30th. The alternative is ordering a 2018 and potentially waiting a whole summer for it...IMO it is not worth the risk. A short while ago JC had a green, a red and a white (this one without a PDR). Unsure if they already sold them or not.
The one I found happened to be white, but I like the colour combo a lot so it is a deal for me. Hope it helps. Cheers!

EDIT: last month Camaro outsold both Mustang and Challenger and posted a record month for gen6. So who knows if deeper discounts will or will not apply to it. Also, 20% discounts usually apply to 15% of the oldest lot inventory. Given your car is yet to arrive it would not apply under this scenario. But since you're not due to pick up your car until June, whatever discounts they may have, should apply to you. Just a guess here tho.

$7000 & $6500 discounts respectively. Is this because you live in Canada?

I've pushed the Dealers here in this States. Without Employee pricing I can't get there...

GM Canada is doing the following incentives on Camaro:

-$3,500 cash credit
-$1,000 for a ScotiaBank GM VISA Credit Card application

There are also the usual discounts of:

-$500 off for recent post-secondary school graduates
-$500 - $1,000 off for new comers to Canada (Permanent Resident or Citizen within the last 2 years)

The $6,500 or $7,000 off would have been extra taken off the MSRP by the dealer. It's worth noting that if you take the $3,500 cash credit, you are forgoing the 0% for up to 60 months interest rate offered by GM. Depending on what rate you can secure privately and how much you are using as a down payment, it may be worth taking the 0% instead of the cash incentive.

That's kind of what I figured, I had a tough time tracking down this car so I'm probably not going to ask for much more unless it's a factory incentive. I wish mine was coming in May, but I'm ok to wait a few more weeks for the price I got. The only problem is the car they found for me doesn't have all the LPO options I wanted... Can I get the dealer to order these, since they're just accessories, and install them during PDI? Because if they do then I can add these to my financing and likely apply the discount to them as well.

2 weeks ago Jack Carter still had a white one with no PDR on order. I don't think it's sold yet, but I didn't take it because they only offered $1,000 discount + cash incentive even when I told them that another dealer offered me much better. The green and red were still on the lot last week. I ordered from Shaw GMC because they are part of Car Cost Canada preferred dealership so they give insane discounts if you bring your car cost report. However, they don't know nearly as much about Camaro as Jack Carter (Shaw didn't know about 1LE and clearly didn't understand their allocation).

We might have to meet up so we can have matching storm troopers

I don't think this is average pricing in Canada. I went to another dealership and they only offered me $1000 + $4000 cash incentives. I got my deal because I brought a report that outlines the dealership cost and profit for my car, and they were willing to negotiate with it. My sales guy also made a mistake and signed the agreement at invoice + 1% but I found out from the management later that they "don't offer" that deal for new orders (only what's on the lot).

Yes this is because in Canada the car costs mid $50G CAD. NO, this is not a discount from a dealer PLUS GM incentives. This is a TOTAL discount including GM incentives. The dealer will usually throw $1-2G on top of GM incentive.

Rice Cake - would love to hook up but I spend my summers in Ontario hence I bought my car there. Regardless, we could get together and compare notes when I am back in Alta in the fall. Cheers!

Yea, that would be great! I'm guessing you leave your car in Ontario?

Off topic: Are you getting any clear bra installed at dealership or elsewhere? I know nothing about that stuff and trying to do my research on where to get it and what parts of the car to cover. I just ordered some ZL1 Addons accessories (rock guards and jack pads), hoping to install the rockguards as soon as I get the car to prevent the insane rock chips that others are reporting. ZL1 Addons seems extremely expensive for what you get (especially with exchange rate and shipping), but I feel I can justify it because of the discount I got on the car

Yep my summer cars stay behind and sleep comfy in heated storage By all means let's get together!

I too ordered from ZL1addons. Yes very expensive but seem top quality and really not much choice out there. Got: rock flaps F and R, F license plate holder with a receiver and toe hook and lift points (they stay on permanently - cheaper and more handy if the car has to be hoisted somewhere).
As far as 3M: I have tried arranging via my dealer but frankly they had no clue and even tried sending me to a Lambo dealer lol! So I looked up local tinting/graphics/wrapping shops and they will put the film on F, the fenders and rockers for $499 plus tax. It seems the area that is really prone to chipping is just before a R wheel. I will ensure they cover it all with a big piece as well do the rockers up to the large crease on the door. It may cost me extra...I am also considering adding ACS black rockers to provide for more protection from stuff being kicked up from under the car. It ain't cheap tho but would look awesome on our white cars
Check it out on their website. Feel free to PM me so we can stay in touch via email - much easier. Ciao!
