Tuners

Does any one have experience with hp tuners and nGuage?

Does one allow you to swap tunes pretty easy? For example, have a "normal daily tune" and drive to the drag strip. Get there and load a "drag tune"?

I'm looking into one of them but not sure which is best for my needs

We chatted privately but I will share my take here for others...

The nGauge at this point in time can only write the 2016 ECM. It cannot do the 2017+ ECMs or the 2016+ TCMs. As a scan tool it is pretty nice being able to see certain PIDs all the time. As a tuning tool it just can't operate at the same capacity as HP Tuners. If tuning is the priority go with HP Tuners. You can always sell it if the need goes away.

Question. I had my 2017 tune via a speed shop who used HP Tuners. They had to pay credits for unlocking or so to be able to tune it. Say I'd rather have it tune remotely in the future what would I need to buy to be able to get custom tunes? Any value already having it unlocked via HP- Tuner?
Thanks in advance

I forgot to mention my intentions are to get long tubes and second cat deletes and put on the smaller pulley. Is this something that can also be done via remote tuning or is dyno tuning preferred?

Sorry OP. Didn't mean to highjack your thread it others might be interested as well with 17's.
