RPM TB charge pipe and ZZP silicone intake tube installed.

Took a little over an hour, but the intake tube took literally 5 minutes. Charge pipe took longer since I was learning as I went. Still not too bad. It was fun and I think it cleans up the engine bay nicely.

I won't be doing a tune until when and if I start more involved mods. Downpipe and intercooler would be nice, but i can't do that myself. Have to find somebody who could do it. Then I would add a tune. These two mods were more about making things look good.

Looks great in the engine bay. Nice work. What are your driving impressions with these upgrades? Don't doubt your ability to do the work yourself for the downpipe installation. The intercooler won't be that hard either.

Ok, just got back from a good drive. Turbo is a bit louder, but nothing that much. No CEL's, low end seems to pull harder. Didn't do any high speed runs. Biggest thing I noticed was the RPM charge pipe was just barely warm. If i remember correctly the stock plastic pipe got quite hot. Somebody please correct me if i am wrong. One thing I will say, please check your charge pipe for metal burrs. I had a pretty good size one on the inside where the sensor goes through. Not sure if it would have come off, but if it did and got sucked into the engine, well that's probably not gonna be pretty. Glad I saw it and removed it.

Ok, after putting some miles on since installing them I am very pleased. Fit and finish is fantastic. No movement at all. Two very fine products. Performance wise not sure much is there however in conjunction with other mods I'm sure they will be of benefit. I am going to try for some 0 to 60 times to see what she does.

I believe the temperature differential you're feeling is due to the RPM pipe retaining the heat inside and under the coating, where a factory nylon tube better dissapates that heat. Nylon/plastic will always have better thermal dissapation properties than most metals.

You should just go for it and try to install an intercooler yourself. Getting the fascia off will be the hard/annoying part but after that everything should be in and out easy... As far as I know, and at least hope. I orders the zzp intercooler and am just gunna go for it on my own, mind you I am not expert but enjoy a challenge

ChicagoT did you work on your ATSintercooler on your own?

That's awesome man. I look forward to your install. Maybe it will inspire me.

Hmm, you make a valid point for discussion. I hope psykostevo from RPM chimes in here. Love to hear his take.

I didn't install the intercooler. The intercooler is on my buddies 2013 ATS, not my 2014. I usually try to point that out to help alleviate confusion. I don't believe the intercooler install is too terribly difficult. Michigan can do it himself, or, he is within driving distance of ZZP.....

Based on your initial comment that spurred his reply, it sounded like you were stating that the stock charge pipe used to get hot, and the RPM pipe was just warm?

We make the pipes out of metal because it's strong, and it's also MUCH cheaper to go into production than injection molded polyurethanes. The upfront cost of plastic injection molding is ridiculous.
