Anyone else order Forgestar wheels from a site vendor and not 100% pleased?

so I ordered (paid for) wheels back on 3/20, with an eta of 6 weeks, (6 weeks was last Monday)

I was told i'd get a tracking link so I could watch them progress through the build process and after more than 2 weeks and several follow up attempts on my end I had a link.

1st thing I noticed are the dates on the webpage (order date 9 days later and ETA based off 4/1)
Didnt say anything to my sales person at the time as I figured it must be wrong and didn't think anything of it as i have the eta from my vendor as 6 weeks and I have a receipt from 3/20

A screenshot is attached for those not familiar with the site. the status you see, is the very same status (nothing has changed at all) when I finally got access the 1st week of April

I've followed up now once per week to see if they site is hung or accurate and my order isnt progressing. If I could reach the vendor which has been hit or miss, when I hear back it's usually only after I follow up a 2nd time.

Being my order is in the system, I actually opted to call Forgestar directly to see if I could get straight answers from the horse's mouth and that was obviously a huge mistake, I was polite and asked for a status for my order offering an order number, the forgestar employee, whom I never got the name of before he hung up, was extremely rude and long story short told me not to call them and to follow up with my sales rep, many more things were said and I was pissed to the point of considering cancelling my order and calling my card company to process the cancellation... I gave myself a few minutes to calm down and called the vendor again (holding my breathe he would be available) He was and i explained what had just happened, never mentioning I was considering cancelling my order... he assured me all was still well and said he'd call forgestar that moment and get me a real time update.

He called me back and it was going to the finisher stage, a week goes by so i followed up again last Friday, still no word... I am now at a point where I either say F-it and call my card company for a chargeback, or I stick it out 2 more weeks before I really get upset.

if you google "forgestar wheels complaints" I am not alone.... sadly a good deal of the lack of communication however has been from my rep, who I have yet to name but is a vendor here.

Now I have not yet passed my "eta" from the site based on an order date of 4/1 as posted in the screen shot, but the lack of quality updates, the non-functional site, the late order date, and extremely unprofessional and rude service I got directly from forgestar when I called has got me a tad anxious. getting 2nd rate follow through from a site vendor on a relatively spendy purchase doesnt sit well either

I am sure all the horror stories I read online didnt help either, but wanted to check if anyone here has experienced similar?

with a vendor here or elsewhere?

what should i do?

That sucks man! Spending that kind of money should put you in the realm of being properly "taken care of". I'd have cancelled the order when they couldn't tell me when I'd have them at my home.

I didn't order from a site vendor, but it took me 15 weeks to get my Forgestars in. I ordered before black friday and received them in mid March.

I ordered Forgestars for my 2014 back when I had it, had absolutely no issues and absolutely LOVED the wheels. It takes time to make a forged wheel, be patient.

As for the lack of communication, I would say something, if everyone knows they will change the way they treat us and communicate better. I just ordered HRE wheels from ModBargains who I went through to get my Forgestar wheels. I hound them for updates, I really don't care if I annoy them, I'm the one who dished out the money.

Yikes, did you have access to the site for tracking them?

This is true, in fact they are technically stocked blanks too they drill and cut offset upon order. Reality is it should be a much shorter process than the 6 week window they give, but I was fine with that time frame

I did not. I was patient because it was winter and I needed them for my first autocross day of the season (April 1). They came in about 3 weeks before I needed them for my first event, so it all worked out. But I was initially told "6-8 weeks"... At 8 weeks I contacted the vendor who was prompt with all of his communication. I was definitely concerned with the long time, but it ended up working out fine for me.

Yup your correct, should be less time, For MRR Wheels our Flowforged are also
completely raw aluminum, we have 5 CNC machines that handle all the specs for the initial vehicle, from there we send to our finishing department where they handle all the prep work, hand brushing and colors.

this whole process takes us only 5-7 days max, and technically if we cut the line it can all be dont in 2 days tops.

the difference is that we do everything in house, many other companies have no choice but to receive the order and send out the wheels to get machines else where wait for them to complete, receive the wheels and re send to another company to be refinished, now if a mistake is dont in any department it all ha to start over again. good luck.

Update from the vendor, he called me yesterday afternoon after seeing this thread. Still doesnt have an updated time but assured me by the end of the month I'll have them.

Was given a list of reasons for the delays from heat, lack of staff and even just plain "i dont know", and communication issues, and tbh none of them were valid reasons imo.

I was told he didnt want to "rush" them because then mistakes in the finishing happen, which was quite a surprising answer... (rushing them? lol they are already 6 weeks into this process and late)

I was assured communication would improve and will be calling them out by name very shortly if not.

I will be ordering a second set of wheels a week from today from someone else and cancelling this order if I dont have a solid ETA on my wheels and it better not be month end.

Vendors who can assure me a much better experience on a wheel similar to the f14 in a bronze finish and deep concaves, please contact me

One thing for sure is that I dont know who the vendor is but for sure the vendor has no fault in the delay, this is the wheel manufactures fault, although they promise you 6 weeks I do feel that a little more communication go's a long way. the only reason Im even getting involved with the conversation is that I personally dislike when a vendor has to take the heat and they have no control over the situation.

I agree the delays are the manufacturer, except for the 9 day delay when I paid and he actually placed the order... Biggest thing a vendor can do if they know delays are going to happen is under promise and over deliver If I had been told 8+ weeks is the norm i'd have either been ok or chosen another product with less lead time
