Things to know when Buying a Camaro

Id like this to be a sticky so please dont fill it will chatter. I will try to update it so everything is in one post.

One thing to know.
If the car you are buying or ordering has rims option of $1995 you are buying a 2nd set of rims. The dealer must give you the original rims shipped on you car. They are not exchanged for the new rims you paid $1995 for. The $200 option rims are exchange for originals and you do not get those back.
If anything gets installed at the dealer the originals belong to you. Get them befor you leave. look at you RPO codes it will have both sets of rims on it.

Check your car over very carefully for scratches dents and damage. The metal is thin the paint is iffy on some. There will be some damage that will be covered if you find it in time. best if you find it befor taking delivery. Have them put it up on a 4 post lift. I dont trust them on a 2 post
If you order or the car comes with black bow ties. These are installed at the dealer. Check for damage around them or just ask for the parts and you put them on. My car has $1000 damage because the high school kid they gave my black $52k car too didnt know what he was doing. got to learn some time but.
READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. lots of good stuff in there.

Pressing the start button with out your foot on the brake or clutch for 5 sec turns on everything with out starting the car ACC.

The radio plays lossless WAV files so no crappy mp3s you can listen to full cd quality music.

the 2017 cars do not play MP4 movies only 2016s do.
please list others.

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

awesome thread...

Check the torque on the front sway bar links (esp on a 1LE). They tend to be loose. This causes clanking sounds and can be hard to find.

If you are getting a "fifty", check the trunk lid decal right below the bowtie to see if there is any bubbles (mine has). Because we usually check the car in sun light, and that area is in the shade of the bowtie, you need to crouch and look up with the LED light of your phone. Sometimes dealer install the blk bowtie improperly, will leave some damage.

In Acc mode, check if there is any buzzing noise from your HID (mine has, hard to hear if with engine on). I am not sure if this is normal (read in other car's forum saying its normal) or not. Will check with dealer.

These are the two things I noticed the day after I took delivery.

PS: I got two sets of floor mats (blk one and fifty one), battery protection kit for free. I did not order them but they come with the car. Not sure if this is the common case.

Can anyone confirmed getting a 2nd set of rims for the $200 option?

I bought a 2SS about a year ago. Am I too late to make a claim?

I edited my post to be more clear. you do not get a 2nd set with the $200 option wheels. Just the $1995 wheels.

then your dealer owes you a set. The dealers beleave that if they forget to tell you and you dont pick them up they get to keep them.

You do NOT get a second set of rims with the $200 option, Just the $1995+ option (LPO items) the $200 upgrade are installed at the factory vs. the LPO rims are shipped separate and you paid for both sets.

Just like the lighted bowties those are dealer installed so make sure you get the factory ones back, the same for the fuel door dealer installed.

My dealership showed them to be and put them in the trunk along with my lug nuts.

-20" 5-split spoke, bright Silver-painted aluminum wheels1
$200

-20" 5-spoke, low-gloss Black aluminum wheels1
$200

(LPO) Rims Dealer installed (These you do get your rims installed @ the factory Plus the rims below)

-20" 5-Split Spoke, Low-Gloss Black Wheels1
$1,995

Yes, you should get the 4 piston front Brembo calipers and the rotors as the 6 piston Brembo brake package for $3k includes the new calipers and rotors.
