I'm driving from southern Indiana to Wakins Glen next month. 750 miles, 11.5 hours each way. This is the furthest I'll have ever gone. That said, I drive to VIR every year for an event which is 630 miles and Mid Ohio 2-3x every year, 380 miles each way. When I go over 4 hours away- I don't drive back after getting off track (usually Sunday). I'm always instructing and can't count on leaving till my students last session, so I just take Monday off and get a good night sleep and head home early Monday.

If you're in Atlanta, you have some awesome tracks within 4-5 hours:
Road Atlanta
AMP
Barber
CMP
Roebling Road
NCM

I would love to drive Barber! This past Saturday I drove 3:20 each way to MSR Cresson. I left the house at 4:39 am and returned at 7:30 pm. Worth it!!!! So, if I came in the day before and left the day after - I would drive up to 10 hours one way for a couple of great track days.

Longest I drove was about 10 hours.

The road trip is almost as fun as the track day.....just better have faith in your skills, your car, and your luck. 'Cause it could be a big headache to have an issue far from home.

My go to tracks are going to be Summit Point, VIR and New Jersey Motorsports Park, those are all pretty close by and and very good tracks!

Pacific Raceways is very close (about 35-40 minutes)
Ridge takes me about 1.5 hours or worse depends on the state highway traffic
and ORP is about 4.5-5 hours (240 mile to 300 mile) depends on the route.
There is also PIR in Portland (about 3.5-4 hours from Seattle) but haven't been there yet I might try it for once though

Recently had a friend of mine borrow a trailer and spend 10 days running RA, VIR and Roebling before coming home.

That's my kind of road trip!
