There are a few of us that hit Byron and GLD throughout the year.

Byron is far for some and they prefer GLD.

I've not been to Byron in some time.

The weather is still too iffy to get to the track.

Byron and GLD are the same distance basically from Minooka. I would run at Byron over GLD everyday. I never have like GLD. When I have ran there the track prep sucked.

I've run 10.90 at GLD. I usually race there.

Byron is farther for me (from the North side) and I find the weekends to be too crowded.

I usually race at GLD on Thursdays or Fridays.

Silly work gets in the way of that for me. Can't do it during the week.

I drive 100+ miles to the nearst 1/4 mile track.

I meant that, for many, 1 day isn't weather, so not everyone has their car out from winter storage. Mine doesn't go in to winter storage, so it's not a concern for me, I've just not been to the track yet.

Not everyone is willing to drive that far for a track. Again, some people have outright said they won't go to Byron for reasons, just like they won't go to GLD for reasons. I was simply parroting that which I've been told.

I personally go to both for different reasons. As well as other local and remote tracks. It just depends on what I'm in the mood to do.

I don't typically go in a group -- too many variables to handle. But, if you're looking for track groups.. Try the Midwest section on here or other local to Chicagoland sites.

Shorewood IL here, just the got the Camaro about a month ago, haven't had it to the track yet, used to go to 66 Byron and 41 with my previous cars. 66 is nice but long lines suck to wait in, the others are all over an hour to get to.

I used to race at 41 a lot in the past, but these days I have not bothered the traffic to get there for me is a total killer.

I was out there Saturday. 11.38@123. Still figuring out the launch with the new found power. I'll be back in a few weeks....I like Sunday over Saturday, it's usually less crowded, but I wanted to be out there for opening day. Even made the FB page....
