Paint Sealant
Sunny SD requires sun protection, specially that I dont think this is the best paint job Chevy has done.
I used Wolfgang, going to do it once every 4 months. Water slips off right away, and it shines too. I think sealant is the way to go, vs wax. There are spray versions too, what's your experience with sealants? |

I use RejeX, I like it over wax because it takes half the effort/time to apply and it lasts just as long/shines just as well.

CQ is not a sealant. It is a coating . Two entirely different product classes/animals. From the autogeek site: coating vs sealant: A coating is a hand applied product that is much thicker and much more durable than a traditional wax or paint sealant. A wax or sealant might last anywhere from 1 month to 1 year where as a coating can last multiple years. A coating can add additional protection against scratching and marring that a wax or sealant cannot. Example the sealants are rejex, blackfire wet diamond, blackfire Crystal seal, Ultima paint guard plus. These are $18-30.... Coatings for the most part are much more expensive than a wax or sealant and require more expertise to apply properly. A coating can be removed by polishing it off. If you are a beginner I would recommend that you start off with a good sealant or wax. Examples are opticoat, 22ple, cquartz and pinnacle. These are $> 50 and require polish first.

This is the best sealant I have ever used, try itm, you won't regret it its little expensive but you will keep your car protected against water spots, bird poo, etc.

My car is scheduled to go in the first weekend in May for CQuartz Finest. The Detailer (also a very good friend of mine), says this stuff is absolutely AMAZING...... I have seen a few cars in the Forum with this applied, and they look outstanding to say the least!!!!!!!

May not be in the same league some of you are, but I used Turtle Wax Hard Shell. Six months in and I am more then impressed as it continues to shed water impressively. It has lasted through the winter and I will reapply sometime this month. For a cheaper alternative I would highly recommend it.

I've had great results with optimum products.
I use optimum opti-seal after a wash and before wax if I wax. http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-seal.html |

I currently have several sealants in my arsenal and much prefer them to wax for longevity sake. I'll rank mine from most to least favorite.
Blackfire Wet Diamond Finish Kare 1000P Collinite 845 Maguiars #21 Rejex I have Chemical Guys Jetseal coming with my next detailing order so we shall see how I like it. Right now my day to day favorite is Blackfire and my winter prep favorite is Collonite. Everyone has there own opinions though and I've found that results vary by person, environment, and means of application. |

No ones mentioned Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze. I have a quart in the garage now and when I have time I plan on using it. I did a lot of reading on the subject and wanted the best product that doesn't "chemically bond" to the paint so I bought the Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze. Does anyone have any thoughts? Now I'm thinking I should have gone with Blackfire. Thanks in advance.

Paint on this car seems pretty good to me. Also the paint on my 2016 Colorado.
No complaints. I feel it's better than my last previous 2 C6s and C5Z. Maybe not quite up to par with the german cars I've owned but we shall see how it holds up. I wax my cars twice a year and they are garaged year round. I've used sealants and waxes. Both work good for me. I use liquids and apply with an orbital after 1-2 stages of polish and of course starting with clay. |
