GM 1LE Wickerbill?

Anyone heard of this part coming out? This was taken directly from the Camaro High Performance Supplement for the vehicle manual.....

I wish we had some actual data for these things (and the Zl1 addons version).

the wicker bill from ZL!addons looks so much better then the GM one. I installed the ZL1ADDONS one and love the way it looks. Added pictures.

I'm glad you like it better than the GM one, so do I. But, and I say this truly not trying to be a dick, there is a thread for the ZL1 Addons already, let's keep this one targeted at the GM factory one.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them in the wild, but I'm afraid I won't be very interested in one. See the 5th gen wicker bill had some actual aerodynamic engineering that was tested and proved beneficial to the Z/28, this generation all the aero on the ZL1 & ZL1 1LE are wings instead of spoilers. I think because of this the Wicker Bill for the blade spoiler won't be much more than a cosmetic upgrade. Sure it will likely provide more downforce/drag, but there won't be any money spent by GM performance to test and tune it on a blade spoiler equipped car because they have no need too. So frankly my reasoning for wanting the GM wickerbill is now pointless since it won't be the recipient of any trickle down performance tuning from the Higher Performance models. This will be just as much of a shot in the dark as the other aftermarket wicker bills are, in terms of added performance.

Our standard wicker bill not a stealth puts 150 lbs down force at 130 mph and that data comes from the Z/28 wicker bill data and our standard wicker bill is the same square inch area. Its has been a while when we had the data on the 5th gen Forum but it seems like that was what it produced.

It may be slightly different since the blade spoiler is a little different than the old Z/28 spoiler but I would say it's probably VERY close to those #s!

There are a few forum users who have the GM Wickerbill for some time now, would love to see some pics of it installed already as i have not seen one on a GM Blade Spoiler yet...

Assuming this is more than an appearance mod, what is needed on the front end to balance out the additional downforce on the rear?

I got my hands on one and decided to take the plunge to see for myself. I was against the use of a wicker bill for fear of upsetting the balance of the car, but frankly, I'm having some doubts on how effective these things actually even are mounted so low on the car. But if they are effective, it could potentially work to my advantage with a 305 square set up if I end up going that route. Regardless, I'm a fan of how they look so that's worth 10hp right there ha. Here is a double sided tape mock up for those curious. It's important to note that this is much more subtle than the Zl1 Addons version, many of you may like this. It's a perfect match to the factory satin color and blends in quite well, especially on a darker colored car. I'm still up in the air if I will mount the thing permanently.

Just the fact that it's painted to match the blade on the 1LE has me almost sold! A few more pictures would be greatly appreciated!
