AFM valve delete module

I just received this module from EFI tuning hoping to get rid of the CEL since I had a borla cat-back system installed. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction when it comes to installation instructions. Thanks!

Plug it in. Zip tie it up out of the way. Nothing to it.

Please call or PM me if you run into any issues. As Parish8 stated it's a simple install.

I now have a How-to video section on YouTube (see link in sig) so I will start getting some install videos assembled for everyone moving forward. It's a lot easier just to see how its done than trying to explain it

Thank you,
Tim

Can these be used with stock exhaust to get rid of AFM? http://efi-tuning.net/efi-tuning-201...module-set-v2/

The modules will not turn off AFM. They only allow you to remove the actuators without setting any codes.

Yeah I know AFM will still be activating as far as shutting off cyclinders. What I meant to say is could this be used to stop the valves from closing in the exhaust on a stock OEM exhaustt? Or would I need to purchase an exhaust with dummy mounts for the actuators to sit in that don't have any valves inside the piping? I know Stainless works makes a cat back system with the dummy mounts for them. I guess I will have to wait for your how to video to even see how these things hook up. I know the only way I can stop AFM from turning on completely is a tune but I would like to at least stop the valves from closing in the exhaust.

these units are designed for people that have removed their afm valves from the car. they prevent a cel.

if you have stock exhaust there would be no benefit to keeping the valves open. they are all ready open all the time other than when in 4cylinder mode.

If you are going aftermarket you can avoid the expense of AFM provisions. Just plug in the modules and done.

My experience with AFM is the tone of the exhaust drops out and makes a weird blurp or sucking noise when activated. I figure that is most likely the valves closing in V4 mode so I don't want that. I actually want the valves to stay open when in V4 mode. I was hoping that these could hook up to the actuator and stop this from occurring even for a OEM system.

It seems to me that it would stop them from working since they will be unplugged with the sims in place.

For those that cut out the AFM valves to place in an AM system, is it possible to just remove the butterflies and leave everything in place and hooked up?

You're going to have to cut apart the exhaust to get to the butterflies anyways, so you may as well just cut them out.

Okay, I understand the cutting out the valves and attaching the AM so you don't throw a cell
But will the car still going into the V6 mod from the V8. Is this just to avoid the change in tone and crap sound when AFM cuts in?

Thanks

The car will still go into V4 mode regardless of the valves. The only way to prevent V4 mode is to tune it out or get the adapter that plugs into the ODB port.

The whole point of the valves is to better manage the exhaust flow when the engine does go into V4 mode.

I have mine tuned out and the valves grounded to prevent any CEL.
