SS 1LE's above sticker?!
Not sure if any of you are on the Facebook 6th Gen Camaro page, the large one with the 12,000 members or not...but I noticed that various dealers are posting SS 1LE's on there lately and they want sticker, or in some cases $1000-$2000 over sticker. Some people in the comments were saying this is "common in their areas"? I couldn't believe it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my car, but $2000 over sticker? No way...I don't get it either, I paid like $5000 less then sticker, and I got the first one in FL. My buddy in NC got his a few weeks ago for about $2500 off, I mean who is paying over sticker for these things?!

I paid $39,600 for mine OTD here in OKC 6 weeks ago. No way at all I would pay $1 over sticker for any car. Find another dealer, dealers that ask over sticker are the ones that need to sit on those cars until they are 2years old and the interest is eating the dealership because they are greedy.

Chevrolet of Bellevue wanted 4k over MSRP. And wouldn't budge. I drove 30miles and got 2.5k Under MSRP. Then noticed the next day the one at Bellevue wasn't advertised anymore. So someone must have paid it. Sucks buying cars up here. Too many people willing to pay MSRP or higher.

Including sales tax?! That's roughly 38k for the car. That's nearly 8k off sticker. You win Sir. Why would the dealer agree to sell it that cheap? That's below their holdback price; there must've been a magical combination of incentives. I mean, congrats to you, but what a blow to our resale values.

We don't have sales tax on automobiles here in Oklahoma.

Ok Google fails then. It said $20 on the first 1500 and then 3.25% after that.
Still, you got a killer deal.

Yeah we have to pay excise tax to the state when we go to get our plates 30 days after purchase. That is 3.25% of the purchase price + $96 for the tag + $14 for a title fee + a tire disposal fee based on tire size. On my $39,600 purchase I paid a little over $1400 for my tag, title and excise tax. |

I purchased mine two weeks ago and got it for $39,500 + TTT. I did notice that most dealers were posting them at sticker, with the exception of a few that had a slight cash discount that quickly vaporized when they brought you their best offer to start. In the southeast there were very few cars, none in GA, so most dealers I talked to were trying to get cars from other places.
I bought mine from the only dealer that happened to have three examples (not posted on aggregate care sites like autotrader), and it took about an hour to get it marked down from the $36k they started at. The demand is going up and the internet search can be misleading when it comes to how many are actually on dealer lots. I had to do some digging and it proved very worthwhile. |

I've seen and talked to some people where the dealers won't move off of MSRP or are adding a few $K to it. I know it was difficult to find one in my area at the time and the dealers did offer a good deal, but not as good as I could have received on say a 1ss or 2ss. Over MSRP? I see it but I personally would never pay it. Too many other places to shop.

I didn't get nearly as much off sticker as you did but I did get lucky with the sales tax thanks to my trade in I only paid $700 in sales tax!

I was wondering if, at some point, these cars would start selling for over sticker. Wouldn't surprise me.
