Swapping stock spoiler SS

I just bought another stock SS spoiler and painted it Gloss black. I plan to take out the hyper blue SS spoiler I have now to install the new one but I heard the Spoiler is installed using pins... Whats the best way to install my replacement GLoss black stock spoiler?

The spoiler is bolted in 2 per pillar for 6 bolts. There are also plastic clips one on each outer pillar. Additionally there is that 3M type double sided tape under each pillar.

Here is a video by Sledgehammer70 that shows you how he took it off. What I used as a guide for mine.

Remove the nuts from the existing spoiler, carefully use a plastic tool like a bond squeegee to separate the adhesive rubber tape and remove the spoiler.

Plastic guide pins help guide the new spoiler into holes in the trunk lid. First apply the new rubber pads to the new spoiler, use the guide pins to locate the spoiler in the proper place. Attach the nuts.

It's easier to have a friend help

What new rubber pads? Do I have to go buy them?

Your new spoiler should come with new pads.

Oh. You can try to be very careful in removing the old pads or find a suitable substitute like thin foam or 3M VHB tape.

So, I have the LT without holes...I'm thinking about drilling and installing the SS spoiler. Are the holes just straight punch through or are they threaded?

That's what I figured just wasn't sure since nobody wants to do a close up of the holes. I have the ZL1 Spoiler on order now....gonna try to punch the holes before I blow $500 on a new trunk...if I do a good job I save money...if I mess up...well either way I'd have to order a new trunk lol

Where and when did you ask for any pictures of these holes that people are denying you?
