Trifecta Tune

Has anybody been running the trifecta tune? If so reviews on it would be greatly appreciated!

My word, Mitch...looks like you stay up at night thinking about such things. Now that's a REAL Camaro fan for ya!

I am a DiabloSport tune fan and have nothing but good things to say about that. Good luck on your search for feedback.

I've had it since may 2016.

I suggest you get it with the option to disable afm in sport mode. This lets you choose to do v4 if you're cruising and disable it on demand when you want to in sport mode.

It nearly if not completely eliminates the hesitation at the top of the peddle travel when accelerating from a stop that is a common issue with the A8.

I've been quite happy with it. I can't tell you exactly how much better the car performs because i never got it tested before and after. The car runs great, shifts and accelerates great. It's hard to really judge what it's done since i've been using it so long and dont remember what the car drove like before using it.

I'm hoping to delete the AFM completely. I work in automotive and I've seen firsthand how it destroys engines.. Looking into their tune right now, I have heard good things about them from camaro 5 guys

Every night! Lol. My dad had used that on one of his cars before, heard good things about them as well, but I haven't seen anything about the 6th gen v6 tune from them yet.

My question is does this tune and a CAI make a big performance difference??

They show dyno runs, and so do some CAI mfg. (e.g. K&n shows 21+whp on a bone stock car and trifecta claims 22whp gains on a bone stock as well)

I know companies post numbers for suckers like my who add it all up and say "well gee I can have an extra 43whp, do some quick math and conclude that's like 385 at the crank!!!

So... I have a k&n, if I get the trifecta tune.... will it really make a 15% increase in speed on my butt-dyno or is this just crazy talk... if anybody has the tune and a CAI that could chime in I would sure appreciate it

I have a CAI from aFe. I've ported my own throttle body and cut the guides out of my intake manifold. I've not yet had the chance to take the car to a track to get you some useful numbers.

But, unless you're going to go FI or spray, this is the most you _can_ do aside from a custom tune.

Thats good lookin' out; I just bought a new intake to port/fill to achieve gains... then again I was also at dodge trying to trade up to a 2016 hellcat (tempting had I not dropped oodles of $$ I wont get back if i do it) My wife put her foot down and isn't "letting" me spend anymore cash untill i can "promise I'll keep the car for another year" SOOOO...

Yeah, I've never done a dyno tune, and my heart keeps telling me to go FI but my wallet tells me to chill... either way I've looked for tuners in San Antonio but I really like the idea of throwing in the stock airbox and setting the tune back to stock if theres a problem...

I dunno, I guess I'm just looking for a reason to go faster

Tune is your last stop before needing serious money for any more go fast mods. Car is already fast so the usual cheap stuff just doesn't have the same impact it did back in the day.

I spoke with Josh at DynoSpeed in Memphis who has tuned 5 cars for me since 2010. He told me there wasn't much to gain on a bone stock Camaro with a dyno tune. But, when you do the math, buying the DiabloSport Trinity tuner wasn't cheap even used. So you have about $500 either way. I wouldn't invest in a custom dyno tune unless you did major bolt ons like E85 or headers, etc. My modest mods have moved me from a 12.38 to an 11.89 and I think that's pretty good. What's great about all of that is, there's residual value in my hardware if I decide to get another car. The other good thing is there's not much effort to remove the gadgets I've installed.

That's not a bad little boost you got just wondering if you could list the mods you do have

Would also like to know what mods you have done. $500 beans sounds affordable. I will say, I like the idea of disabling the AFM with the Diablo tune. Sounds like you have done both? Thank you in advance.

if he went from 12.38 into the 11s, thats a V8 car....You'll be hard pressed to do that with minor addons and the LGX.

Was wondering who was gonna pick up on the fact v8 cars begins discussed in a v6 forum have very little bearing on performance of the lgx v6 in particular.
