Borla exhaust question

Does the borla catless system bolt to the factory exhaust after the second cats or would I need a full borla catback with 2nd cats delete? If I can avoid having to pay for the portion of their exhaust with the AFM valves that's what I would like to do. Currently I have a botched second cat delete and I'm just trying to replace what makes sense. If I can get by with the factory mid pipe or most of it that would be fine. Hopefully this makes sense haha. I'm open to other options as well.

All catback systems bolt on after the secondary cats. That's why they are called "catback" systems. Because they are behind the cats.

Come on dude... That's simply not true. There are plenty of catbacks that delete the secondary cats. Some bolt on after the primary cats and some bolt on after the secondary cats.

Yes it is true.

Quote: "The term cat back exhaust can be defined as the section of an exhaust system that attaches after the last catalytic converter in the system. A cat back exhaust is typically made up of a rear-pipe, a resonator and a muffler, but depending on the make and model, it can also include a mid-pipe, X-pipe, H-Pipe or a Y-Pipe."

There are some exhaust that get rid of the cats but those would be full systems or cat delete X pipes maybe.

You're wrong. The Borla system has option to be secondary cat back, which installs behind the 2nd set of cats(rear cats) or they have a secondary cat delete system that still sits behind the primary cats but deletes the secondary cats.

To the OP:

The secondary cat delete option(which I have) is a true bolt on system and bolts up to the factory exhaust manifolds right behind the primary cats.

Stainless Works is a catback system, mine was installed and connected to the primary cats, per SW design, the secondary cats have been removed.

I am not wrong. The definition of a catback is an exhaust that is behind all the cats. You can google every page on the internet for that.

Also, the borla system is behind the cats but they offer another pipe called "adapter pipes" that delete the 2nd cat. The catback system in itself does not.

My Stainless Works catback is attached to the primary cats, secondary cats have been removed, they even have a system for AFM, which is what I have installed, sounds great.

That system also adds another pipe. Their catback sits behind the secondary cats. Anyone can remove the secondary cats and attach it to the catback but that does not mean that the cat back system deleted the cats. Its just a catback system with another pipe added. You will not find a catback without adding pipes that deletes cats.

My secondary cats are removed, I only have one set of cats, the primary.
