2016 Chevy Express 3500 Question

Quick question if anyone knows about the TPMS sensors on the Chevy Express.

This winter, swapping out the all-seasons with a set of studded winter tires, and my TPMS reset tool that I use for all of my other GM vehicles will not reprogram the TPMS on the Chevy Express.

I'm using the EL-50448 hand tool for the reset.

Does this car use a different kind of TPMS tool for some reason?

Is it equipped with TPMS? The 3500 trucks do not have TPMS, I would imagine the Express wouldn't be any different. One way I check is the valve stem. If it's all rubbery and can be bent it doesn't have the correct valve stem for TPMS. If it only slightly bends at the base where it goes into the rim it has the correct valve stem.

It is equipped with TPMS. I have new 315mhz TPMS sensors in the winter set, and the stock set came with them in there.

I go through the process of the relearn, as the 3500 is saying that all 4 tires have -- pressure, and the tool just won't activate it.

Works on all of the other GM vehicles I've used it for.

Gm's service information suggests the tool you have. I would suggest taking it to the dealer and asking them to use their tool (EL 46079). It has a readout that will indicate whether the sensors are sending a signal. Does your tool work for either set of tires?

Thanks for the confirmation on having the right tool. This one wasn't working for either set of tires.

Maybe my tool is just being defective right now. I have a second one up in my other garage that I will test out this weekend.

Quick update.

The tool that I bought for that garage was apparently defective. I brought my other tool up with me, and everything worked.

I'll have to return the new one. Thanks for the confirmation again
