SS 1LE burnout - anybody done one yet? eLSD make it harder?

Just curious. Any of you guys done a burnout from a stop yet? Does the eLSD limit the amount of wheel spin? Or if you have the nannies off will it still smoke the tires right up?

Also, does the eLSD still work like a "posi", meaning it will leave two tire marks on the ground?

1LE EXCELS at burnouts. Had to send last of OE G3's off in style! No wheelhop, spins em both like any proper LSD

i dumped the clutch in 1st and let her rip for 20-30 feet and let off. Didn't use the brake or anything. Definitely could have kept the hammer down and kept going

What mode settings are you all using to do a burnout? When I attempt one I want to make sure the traction control isn't trying to interfere :P

The eLSD is "just" a clutch-pack limited slip. The only fancy bit is the clutch pack is servo'd by the computer instead of a fixed preload.

You can also toggle to the eLSD screen in your instrument cluster to see the lockup amount. Pages 6 and 29 in your Performance Supplement.

Press and Hold the traction control button for 5 seconds. The mode you're in doesn't matter.

Just turn off traction control...one push of the button. If stability control is still on it won't effect a burnout, just would need to turn that off too if you wanna do some power slides or drifts. Both can be turned off by holding the button for a few seconds...

Good to know!

Does it leave two nice black streaks on the pavement, did you happen to look at your work?

That looks like about $75.89 worth of tire there.

At least considering these tires are like $350 each.

the good thing is, if you run through the first set of tires quick enough, you can swap em out for some pilot sport 4s. Those are the new super sports right? That's what I want so badly just can't justify the 2k for the set until these are toast

If you are seeking lower max lateral g and softer, less linear yaw to lateral g build, and worse front to rear coordination than the OE Goodyears, the Replacement Market version of the MIA PS4's will work OK for those purposes. The downgrade in dry handling performance has been my experience with every Replacement Market version of the MIA PS series tires vs. the OE versions of the MIA PS over the last few generations. I recommend keeping the OE version of the Goodyears if you want to keep the excellent handling, steering response, and lateral grip.
