Winter Wheels / Tires 2017 1LE
Bought a 2017 1LE for a yearly daily driver, so far the only combination I have found for winter next are 305W Pirelli and 285V Pirelli Sottozero 3. I can't find a wheel other than a 1LE 20 to fit. Does any one have a tried winter wheel and tire solution for a 2017 1LE.
I greatly appreciate your input. |

I am running a bit narrower than stock on a second set of wheels. There is another winter thread in here somewhere. I'll try to find it.

BF Goodrich makes a '15 1LE sized 285 A/S tire that works on both front and rear for like $180/corner.
That's what we run on 2015 1LE offset MRR 228's for rims. This entire set of winter wheels and tires transferred over from my Gen 5 (with new 433 MHz TPMS sensors). Works great and gets good reviews: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=481296 Last edited by bub; 03-22-2017 at 11:29 AM. |

I posted my setup in another thread here for "winter tire setup for 1LE".
I'm running a square setup 18x8.5 ET 15mm, 245/50R18 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 I'm not breaking any 0-60 times with those 245's, but it's Winter so I'm just trying to get safely around town. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480919

I'm also running 245/45-19 Pirelli Sottozero 3 in a square setup with Verde Empire 19x8.5 et15. Fitment is nearly as flush as the stock SS 1LE wheels. The tire width effectively slices through the snow.

I love the rims that are on the 1LE already. Would it be possible to just buy two sets of fronts from Chevy and run a 285/30/20 square setup on the 1LE with Pirelle WINTER SOTTOZERO 3 You'd loose the wider rear tire but keep the same look.

Those of us that are using a narrower tire in winter is because we're prioritizing snow traction instead of cold dry traction. Also some of us are going to a smaller wheel to gain sidewall height for the inevitable crumble of the roads during winter.
