Decided to change stock head unit

After thinking long and hard about it. I was going to go with the mylink set up in my 2012 but decided I would rather go with an aftermarket head unit from Ken wood. Since I would have much more features over the stock one. Costs wise it would be a little less as well.

My question is...

I plan on ordering the PAC dash kit. I know it comes with pretty much all you need. But I recently bought the harness from sub thump to add a subwoofer to my BA equipped system.

What I am trying to do is have the after market stereo with stock speakers and my amp in the trunk with my sub.

Do I have to buy anything else or can I just unhook the rca cables from the stock amp in the trunk that's plugged into the harness I got from sub thump and then run it to the new Ken wood head unit?

Amp, I misread your OP. If you're just swapping the HU to aftermarket, you should be fine.

Sub thump sells a speaker harness that allows you to run your rear OEMs with an aftermarket amp.

the boston rears are wired differently. would not sound good if you wired them incorrectly. you CAN use them but it would sound bad.

The OEM rear speakers require a 4 channel amp by themselves, and likely a 2 channel active crossover as well.

Can you use the wires running to the speakers to use aftermarket speakers in their place when adding a 4 channel amp?

You can use a 6ch amp. 2 for fronts and 2 for rears crossed over as HIGH as possible on the amp usually 250hz. the 6x9 will take 40wRms MAX. i drove 100 to them and did las but they make a lot of noise if over 40wRms crossed over at 100hz ( 80hz for rap music ) Or a 4 and a 2ch. NOT MONO. must be a 2 channel.

Decided to change stock head unit

Was thinking about just installing aftermarket speakers to replace all of them. Was thinking a nice 4 channel amp and just get rid of the stock amp completely. Is this hard? Would I have to run all new wires ?

I have a convertible

FARK harness. Get the kit and use the one to return to the factory wiring. DO NOT push more than 70wRms through it. im driving 60 currently and it works very well. rears you can use the adaptors to snap onto the new terminals.

Verts use different setup. They have a actual sub.
