Anyone have an idea what insurance will pay out for my totaled 6th gen?

This last weekend I was driving and unfortunately someone ran a red light and T-boned me which sent me spinning into a pole and totaled my car. Sadly, I just took off the GoPro I had mounted before this drive and since there wasn't any witnesses that saw what happened the police said all they could assume, based off witness statements, was that I tried to make a yellow and ended up running a red.

Anyways I know who was at fault and now its in my insurance's hands to settle that. Where Im at now is just trying to figure out how much I can get from my insurance for the car. I had a 2016 2SS with about 12k miles with about $4k in options and about $3k in aftermarket parts (Carbon Fiber, tail lights, and some other small things.) KBB values my car at about 30k other used 2SS's in my area are selling for about 35k and all of them have less than $2k in options. So that leaves me to ask, does anyone have a clue what I may get paid out and how to up the price when I get my initial settlement offer from insurance.

(Im covered by AAA by the way)

Insurance is different everywhere? Is it not?
My coverage gives me full replacement value of my vehicle. Basically enough to buy a brand spanking new one even if it costs more.

That hurts even worse. Hope you don't get T-boned twice by your insurance. I once left AAA a long time ago for Progressive. So hopefully your policy requires them to do right by you.

That's a pretty gnarly hit I don't see how anyone could come to the conclusion that the other car wasn't already traveling at good speed. If you tried to make the yellow and barely clipped a red light you wouldn't have been smacked that hard.

Anyways, every insurance company is different. They will probably have to look at comps. They are supposed to give you what you could realistically buy another one for, not the dealer trade in value. If you have receipts for the extra stuff, that will help.

But no matter what, don't settle for the first offer. Ask for more, but make sure you are educated on what your car with its exact options are going for in your region.

Yup not only was that car speeding but I live in the area and the way the light works is after mine would've gone red, the pedestrian signal goes white for about 2 seconds while both lights are red before her light turns green.

When I get my first offer how would you recommend asking for more? I was most likely just going to give them prices on local listings, only problem is it's nearly impossible finding one with the white interior trim let alone the other options.

Also when I decline the first offer, do they go back and forth like negotiating a car or would I normally wait a few days for them to call again with another offer?

Like he said above, your insurance company will use a third party vendor like CCC, Audatex, Mitchell or JD Power to survey the value of similar vehicles in your area to basically find comps of what the value is. Then your deductible comes off the top of whatever they pay.

Aftermarket parts don't usually add much value, if any, but press the issue and it may net you a few dollars. If possible swap them out for the stock parts and sell the aftermarket parts.

Make sure that the comp vehicles are actually comparable. If not, yours could be worth more.

That sucks. I saw some photos around these forums and that was a great looking car with a lot of work spent in mods. Not sure how well you will do recouping the cost of your mods, but that CF rear diffuser is definitely toast. :(

It is definitely like negotiating a new car. They are obviously going to want to pay you as little as possible. Figure out what you could realistically buy the same year/options car for at a dealer and try to get your insurance company to pay as close to that as possible. There is going to be some back and forth but if you're educated it is harder for them to say no.

It hurts to see the car and the Anderson stuff destroyed. Glad you are OK.
